How far would you go for a meet

Just wandered just how far people would travel for a meeting.

Say that absolute ideal person or persons messaged you to meet.

What distance would you travel?

I’m in Portsmouth so as far south as you can go so quite often people message from north of England and Scotland.

I’ve flown to Edinburgh. Not a problem.

If I am interested enough, I make it happen.

I probably wouldn't travel longer than an hour for a sex meet. I wouldn't travel that far for a cup of coffee. Who wants to spend more time traveling than meeting?

It depends on whether you feel that it would be worthwhile and how much time you spent meeting. Furthest I’ve travelled was from Manchester to March (Cambs) but it was entirely worth it. Usually I might try to arrange a meet when away on business so I’m already in the area.

I travel all over the UK for work and will often look at the local fibbers for places I frequent. That could be 4/5 hours away in some cases. Lazy...probably. Does it work? Oh my no..haha

In my early days on fab.I've travelled over 100 miles, these days its unlikely I'd do that distance as I'm looking for different things

For a first meet nowadays ,not too far .I've seen so many threads by men and women who have been stood up after going a fair way & getting hotels.

Maybe if I'd met someone a few times and we had a connection I'd travel further .

I only meet socially first time ,so I prefer locals.

When I was single many years again,I went to Leicester for a meet from yorks.

I don't really get why people wink or message when they're hours away and don't visit the area I'm in .

I've had winks from people in America & Dover recently.

I expect it’s just in appreciation of your profile. Take it as a compliment rather than an expectation for anything more.

Honestly, at one point I was seriously considering travelling to America for a meet with a really cute guy! Unfortunately passport application didn't come through in time! Honestly, if they're someone I'm interested in, I'll make it happen.

400 mile round trip is the maximum for me, so far. Distances like these are the exception rather than the rule, however because of the well-known 'Fab Curse' I'm wondering if this will become more common for me.

I hope not.

Like many others, I think it depends on how successful a meet is going to be but also on where they live. I mean, I wouldn't like to drive into London but would drive much further in the opposite direction. If I had made contact with someone whilst away from home, I could imagine going a really long way but, as I am retired, I'm free to do that.

I would travel back up to Manchester for one or 2 people!! I live south of Bristol.

But typicaly 50 miles max.

If they are amazing, so long as i can travel there in a day, with enough time for a wonderful time! As far as I could get!

But they would have to be Amazing!!

It totally depends on the individual. There is unfortunately a very large number of time wasters, dreamers, fakes etc on here.

Even verified accounts! So unless I've built a degree of connection, feel the dynamic is right I'd not consider travelling far.

Conversely, if we're getting on like a house on fire, then I'm willing to travel.

If I didn't have kids, the answer would be unlimited for the right connection.

But as I do, I'm heavily limited by available cash, time, and energy. So my local club it is!

I was living in Barcelona at the time and I had a lady that would fly from London to see me stay for a week and in return id fly to London and stay with her for a long weekend, time wise from door to door maybe 4 hours , miles wise if you had to drive I think via France its about 1600 miles.

We travel usually up to 5 hours, but we always go somewhere that has A- a club B- someone we have already met and enjoyed C- people we have been messaging, so if the meet doesn’t go to plan there’s always backups, if all the above fail then we have each other
