I find them handy on this profile, it seems to be a common theme between couples to wink and only message if that wink is returned.

On my single profile, I honestly don't even bother looking. I've got thousands of them, and keeping up on the actual messages is time consuming enough.

Some of us are of an age when going out on a night out was walking pub to pub. It was great to see the ladies dressed up and looking fine.

Due to the mass of people in the pubs 10 dead at the bar. We would us a wink to show someone we found attractive and hoped we’d get a chat.

So winks are not childish to us that remember them and the success the gave at times. Maybe age sometimes is a good thing.

I use winks to register an interest and also because it circumvents my message filters that are mostly on.

I am happy to receive a wink back, in which case I will message. Quite a few people just message after I have winked, so it works for me.

I hope that I remain somewhat childish. Children enjoy life mostly

A quick wink does wonders , I understand that some people ignore winks some use them alot and others don't care either way. This is how we work and has proved successful on more than one occasion.

If you dislike the wink system so much OP don't use it and ignore all the winks that you get but somehow I suspect that if you get a wink you are straight on it.
