I had one today and responded to it.

They're a useful way of expressing interest and making initial contact.

That's your theory blown straight out of the water...

Recieved winks and replied to the ones I liked...

Sent winks and had replies.. from people who were interested

and met some great people from it

So I think it works

winks are hit and miss some like them others dont and will block you as they say its lazy....me i like winks...always reply if i get them even to just say no thanks...
