There are lots of potential side effects to living with HIV, even on medication. Much higher risk of cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, bone diseases, liver disease, cancers. I have many gay friends that lived through the 1980s, losing friends who now despair at the blasé attitude of many younger gay men to this disease. It may not be the death sentence it once was, but best avoided if at all possible.

I had a broken condom meet and then within a week was seeing bareback videos on him with someone they'd just met (the veri was specific on when they'd met) so it made me wonder 3 things, firstly did the condom really break or was it removed and I didn't see, secondly, did they tell the other person (god knows how many actually) that this had happened a few days earlier? All I gonna say is :

- Testing regularly and PrEP is way better than not testing and/or not taking anything.

- No-one should judge anyone on their decision to play BB. Reason is that everyones health and levels of risk they are prepared to take are the responsibility of everyone and should never be transferred to some target for finger pointing. No-one is forcing anyone to do anything here - if someone wants to stay safe and have sex with a regular BB person then they wear a condom and hey presto. It's no one elses responsibility to look after you.

- Since the advent of U=U, it is now statistically MASSIVELY safer for someone to have bareback sex with an HIV positive person on meds than it is with a random guy/girl on a d*unken night who claims to be 'clean' but hasn't tested for a while. The big worrying antibiotic-resistabt STDs are the sort you can catch even if you wear a condom.

- And of course, most people lie about it anyway, especially on fab where there is a lot of peer pressure. So if you want to absolutely stay safe safe safe then I probably would never trust anyones word on the subject (including spouses)
