Any late disclosure would be a deal breaker for us. But saying that an early disclosure would put us off too.

Are you for real?? Who in their right mind is going to sleep with someone they know has got warts??? Im assuming that when you say they have them that they actually have warts present?? I know even after having them removed you still carry the virus but it sounds from your post that they actually have warts present

How did you find out...did they tell you or did you discover them for yourself?

I would be out myself no matter how close and i would also be angry as hell if someone was going to meet me knowing they had them.

related to this i once had a meet and noticed crabs as i was going down below , i stopped all action , i notice i now pause before play as i inspect the pubic hair and try not to show what i am doing xx

U can have warts, but not realise it straight away,,,,,, as in my case,,,,, the virus that causes them can be in your system for years, and you can have sex normally for years without ever having warts down below actually appear,,,,until u get them below u don't actually know u have the virus (unless u know u get very bad cold sores from time to time, same virus),,,

I think a bit more compassion for people affected with this condition is needed,,, it's not something u get from being unclean,,, it's a bit soul destroying to have it and think u can never have a normal sex life again,, it's rather a lonely life if your single, like me.

All I'm doing is finding advice from people that may be in same situation as me, as to how they have a normal sex life,,, I'm not a happy bunny over this by no means, have lost so called friends over it,, only have one loyal friend on here,,, rest won't talk to me,,, so if anyone has advice for me I'd be thankful,,advice not criticism, thank you!!

Obviously it's being sorted,,but don't know if it's ever gonna go away totally,,the prospect of being sexless for the rest of my days, makes me depressed as I'm single,,, the virus is something that could be picked up years and years ago,,,, yet only show vaginally warts once ever,,, or never....

some of my verrucas went away on their won, but some won't go at all (not even by burning/freezing them) or if they do they come straight back. i'm trying iodine but all any treatment does is shrink them so they're not painful and rubbing on my shoes.

i think your body has to detect the virus, i got told that, but as the virus is right on the outside of your skin then your immune system struggles to detect it.

there are other things that can be done though, i think veruccas are not the same virus (there's 40 viruses though so not sure) so treatments might be the same?

my son had warts and veruccas covering his hands and feet, literally loads and for years, and him just taking superdrug 99p vitamins every day got rid of his. dunno if vitamins might help you? that's all i can think of.

I take loads of vitamin supplements, I'm also menopausal and diabetic, gum clinch are using freezing as treatment, plus I've a recurrence of BV (antibiotics for that),,, just destroying what little social life I have,,,

and vitamins aren't doing anything for me either, but for my son they worked really well.

No genital warts are not painful, is why I hadn't noticed anything earlier,,until shaving a few weeks ago,,,but it's been a help just talking about it. On here I've nothing to lose by being honest,,just honest advice as to how to go about being normal really... I'm hoping once they gone I can be normal,,but I don't think I will if I want to be safe and keep others safe too

Apparently writing chalk rubbed onto the warts or verruccas can dry them out and make them fall out. It worked for one on my finger.

Not sure chalk is gonna work on genitals lol,,, or protect me or others from passing on the virus, whether visible warts are there or not.,, I'm not much in favour of oral either way, thru plastic so that's my main concern

that's good, that they don't hurt.

you're only the 3rd person on this site (that i know of) who has said anything about having an STD so that others know about it. i'm guessing a lot more don't even care, so that's good of you and i'd never slag anyone off for having an STD -we're all at risk of them. and like you said you don't know about them until you get symptoms so many of us could be passing them on without knowing about it.

i just had a quick google and at least genital warts don't cause cancer.

i really don't know what i'd do in your situation. i'd also find it hard to stop having sex, and i'd feel guilty if i knew i had them and there was a risk of passing them on.

hope some people PM you with advice, i doubt most would mention something like this in a public forum.

iodine has dried them out. i froze all the others off but just this last tiny cluster on my right foot will not fuck off. gets me down a bit coz i love foot play. i just cover it with iodine and a bandage now.

BV is just an imbalance of natural bacteria in your vagina. You could have a poor immune system.

My belief is that although you will have the virus permanently the genital warts are only contagious during periods in which they are "active".

My daughter is a doctor....I'll check with her and come back here.

Have you not checked with health professionals?

You are a brave soul outing yourself in this way and I hope you do find a way through this.

You also mentioned being bbw and diabetic. While these are not linked to the warts...they are to each other.

Yes been told that,, but I was told the hpv (that causes warts),, i had years and years ago,, maybe 15 yrs?,,, and I'd nothing to worry about,,, but I do get very bad cold sores at times,, so I guess a bad immune system (not helped by diabetes), brings out the warts as a result of being run down etc just like cold sores

Having spoken to her I can tell you the following.

There are over 30 types of hpv which can cause various warts/verruccas etc.

Genital warts are caused by hpv 6 and 11. They can be treated and the virus can be eradicated and is likely to be eventually cleared by your own immune system even if not treated....though this could take a considerable time.

You are considered no longer infectious 3 months after the warts have gone.....but it is possible to be reinfected and therefore for them to come back from a fresh infection.

Visible warts are 30 times more likely in women than men....unfair but there you are.

But if in doubt....speak to your own doctor or the GUM clinic staff. Good luck.

Most sexually active people carry the virus. It's only some who develop the warts. So you have most likely been exposed already.
