Has dogging died?

Dogging used be be something that was always fun. The exhibitionist buzz, the random participants, and risk of getting caught all made it super exciting.

Now, we've noticed, the dynamic has changed. People just want to turn up and film any action on their phone, which kills it for us.

Anyone else experience this?

When we organise some dogging we tell people no phones out and if one does come out we just stop and leave

We have never had anyone get phones out at a dogging site. We don't let anyone else take photos of us we have on occasion taken our own photos with everyone else involved been in agreement and we always blur faces out and any tattoos.

Exactly this, it also attracts all sorts of undesirables to a location. Usually the sort who would get out their mobile phone and attempt to start filming………

We’ve never had anyone try this.

Same here! Sadly this is one of many examples where technology and people's attitudes to it have ruined it. Definitely don't want everyone and there dog seeing our lovely faces plastered across the internet

Can't say I've ever seen anyone trying to film or take pics unless it's the couple themselves, can only imagine how off putting that would be.

depends where you go and the times, but if you know some quiet locations you can arrange private fun and just invite people, its what weve done before

There’s lots of places in n around york you get the couples places and the cruising places full of guys but it changes night by night and certainly time of day!!

I’ve ventured to both and never seen a phone out!! But I also believe invite is the way forward!!

It still goes on near my neck of the woods in Surrey.

I attend when I can but its always organised. I never just turn up and loiter around car parks for hours upon end waiting to catch a glimpse of pussy.

I only ever attend if I get invited

We've never had anyone else filming us. On occasion we've taken a few pics and vids ourselves with permission which we've sent on to them but none of the guys have ever done this.

Never had this problem when I started going dogging, they didn't have cameras on them...Yep, I'm that old and been doing it that long.

I used to be a regular very small group of nice guys and everything was word of mouth. Polite and manners.

time of the year, spontaneous dogging can be seasonal. when weather warms it gets busier.

But I have found Autumn a bit of a busy time less public and kids back at school.

Organised stuff is usually spring and summer.

cctv is another problem even rural areas are cammed up to catch fly tippers and farm theives.

Not much seems to happen in my area now. I'd say about 30% of the time there's a female around. The times they are around I've never seen a phone camera out. It's an easy thing to blame.

No it has not but it’s now a last option cause of what has happened yes the phone ?? messed it up big time an people just seem to can’t live in the moment we used to have some good spots in hereford I was out the other night a car of lads pulled up an was driving an shouting like wtf it’s just sad now even if you advertise the place u will get all sorts coming an not for what it’s ment to be.

Let’s make a group for doggers only an see if we can restore some fun back to it ??

How much of this to do with the last few years of lockdown. I feel people are less likely to go out in general. And a lot of people who want to go into the woods don't know how to go about it and are worried. So its a clusterfff of issues and obstacles. People can't relax around others anymore.

Its a shame because I've watched some lovely couples enjoying themselves, it's about watching and hoping for an invite. Why do people have to film everything, it's better to watch for real if you want to film watch some porn

Not dead but there’s been a noticeable downturn in couples going to known dogging spots.

It’s always been hit and miss, always but chatting with other regular doggers here in Notts and further abroad it would seem spontaneous dogging is more and more ‘miss’

I have my theories for why this is and FAB, where you can organise outdoor meets, could well be a major factor.. that and folk advertising meets and not racers turning up and being dicks..

Ho hum, I’m still waiting for that sex starved/ craved Swedish netball team to turn up one day..

South East

I’ve been going dogging for over 20 years and the amount of activity is significantly lower than it used to be but I’ve never ever seen anybody take videos or photos without consent.

Saying that, I think the main reason dogging has declined is because of some single guy behaviour.

For example, last week I turned up to a site and there was a guy playing with a couple through their car window. I always approach slowly in this situation and I did so again. I got to about within 10 metres and the single guy, probably in his 60s stormed over to me and told me to F off.

This is why I try to only do pre arranged meets now and have actually found better places to go with the couples!

Its all to hit and miss when your don't get much free time. A pre arranged outside car meet is a better way of doing that type of thing.

yeah think its seen its day now ,, so much bad things to go with it now and moral ethics of doing things in public view ...

the risk of getting charged for indecent exposure, people filming you and uploading online/ peopple taking your car details and finding out who you are and posting what you get upto.. . wronguns out to rob people/gaybash / intimate etc

I think its a thing that is well on its way to being pushed back back into the closet from its hey day
