I've been reading a lot of threads recently about the amount of timewasters, abusive messages and arranged meets where one party doesn't bother to turn up and these problems seem to be growing in size/annoyance factor for all the genuine people on here in direct proportion to the membership of this site increasing

The problem seems to be the ease of access to the site and I wondered what peoples thoughts would be on making FAB a paying membership site?

This might make people think twice about joining up and free up the site for the genuine swingers and people who want to be here and want to join in the fun?

I know there are a lot of people who like the fact its free (me included) but the problem is getting worse. I was never on here in the good ol' days but from what I read, its a LOT different now.

not sure it makes much difference we are also on anothersite that charges and thinking of leaving it due to the time wasters.

You might be right but I don't think it would put that many people off, as long as the paysite was secure. Paying online for things is so commonplace nowadays.

i use a very well known pay site, that im sure loads of others on here are also a member of, and to be honest i get more time wasters on there than i do on here even tho that sites £50 a year membership and this ones free

We do it, well apart from the block function, several times a week and I doubt we lose more than 90 seconds of our weekly lives doing so.

There will be wasters and bullshitters in every sphere of life no matter what rules and regs are put in place, do like us and simply deal with

Yes people, we all now know we can delete and block etc, but making suggestions here rather than moaning (the irony eh, lol) should be welcomed, easy, if you're sick of reading these threads take a similar approach and ignore. how easy is that? also quicker than replying eh.

Thats a very good point, didn't think of that of it appearing on a bill. Maybe it could be paid at one of those machines they use for electricity cards etc. 'I'd like £20 to Fabswingers please!' Lol! It can't fail!

The name of the company that owns the site usually appears on the bill........not the name of the site although that would'nt bother me in the slightest,I buy things from all sorts of places with weird an wonderful names

As for the original question......we have been on both and the same gripes from people come up on both so it really would'nt make any difference,in fact it would put people off I don't believe you need to pay a penny to any site to guarantee success

You have to be 18 to own a credit card and nowadays almost every provider within this way of life, from stockings and other clothing suppliers through to sex toys etc will annotate your bill in a completely innocuous manner.

Where billing in this manner could, and I stress could help is with the guys and girls who share bank accounts with their partners, who may then question the bill but that is hardly a major hurdle now a days.

Clucking bell, as used by Rowan Atkinson in Blackadder was and still is very humourous spin on it's obvious other meaning and is often used in that manner to convey a jestful approach, but in this case I suspect the jester in me has merely sailed right on by you

Recently we have had a lot of problems with guys with couples/single fem profiles... We are on another paid site and get it on there so we don't think it would make much differance at all if this site wasa paid site.

I certainly wasn't intimating that buy paying for the site it would mean a jump in the success rate of meets (I think thats what was meant) as there are so many other factors involved in having a successful time. There just seemed to be a lot of threads appearing recently with people saying how many timewasters, missed meeets etc. have been going on and it was just my thought on how to stop it.

I've never been on a paying sites so good point from a few of you about being members of paying sites and the guff that still goes on.

Paying is out then. Lets all just get naked and shag!

As others have said, it wouldn't make any difference. I'm on another pay site and there's similiar complaint. Doesn't help that most of the men who have been on for years have free membership. For some people it's a thrill for them seeing all the messages from eager people. There will always be those types of people I'm afraid!

It’s not the membership fee or lack of fee which attracts the twats…. It’s the generally dilution of what it means to be part of the swinging scene (to include anything and everything) and the people on here telling knobheads on every adult contact site going to come and try their luck here which causes the problem.

In short, mainstreaming. And people wish for the day swinging is socially accepted

If you think paying will help, when your using the browse/search, tick the box for site supporters only, would hedge a bet it wont make a jot of difference, we’ve came to realise that even the most genuine people on here already have their own circle of friends, they regularly visit clubs and socials and seldom meet new people online.

Does it make them timewasters/fakes? Nope it means they’re getting back what they’ve put in, something some just wont do on here, some people want everything on a plate without any effort then moan about it when they fail to get any meets.

Unfortunately, there is some people out there that ARE only here to waste peoples time and have no intension to meet with anyone, and paying won’t deter them either, the only difference it would make in this instance, is that posts like these would be then aimed at admin, because people are having to pay for a site full of timewasters and fakes.

Best advise to the OP is, see that money that your willing to pay, save it up and visit a nice club.

I've not really had any problems (apart from the one occasion) but that a bloody good idea! I've never been to one yet so I might just do that.....

I read elsewhere that on paysites you get the types which have the attitude that because they have paid they deserve to get a meet, which sadly I can imagine to be true.

Also I reckon you are likely to see just as many good people go as you see bad.

Other than the need to cover site costs I see no other benefit of having fab as a pay site. That problem was resolved rather well by the site supporter option and its sole purpose was to gain funds for the site without making it like a pay site.

Fab is better than all the others because of the way it is right now.

We were introduced to this site about a year or so ago and have met some great people from here, only once have we been stood up, but if it were a paysite we would not bother on here. We think that its a case of asking the right questions and talking on the phone etc before meeting ,and if somethnig feels not right then let it go and move on sooner rather than later.

We are members of many sites, almost all the other sites we pay for our membership, on some we are totally ignored, they are very cliquey, on others we are plaqued by messages from people we outside our meeting criteria and we have no control over blocking them, at least here it is very easy to Block the timewasters and those your not interested in.

Here you can report people to Admin and if your complaint is justified action is taken swiftly unlike many other sites.

To answer the obvious question - why do we pay for other sites, we paid before we found fab and are life members on some, on others we don't renew the membership when it comes up.

Happy with Fab as it is, FREE for those who choose to use it that way, reasonably priced for those that wish to make a small contribution and the free members still get to use 95% of the facilities.

Just to clarify, I LOVE this site and apart from one small problem, I've never had any bother and I'm certainly not moaning about anything.

I put the original post up as I'd read so many other threads recently about problems others were having and it was really just to see what others thoughts were on making FAB a pay site. Some great posts and views as well!

If anonymity is required and you want to pay , do as we do, we pay by deduction of the fee from a pay as you go mobile , problem solved ! Surely if everyone paid, fees could be reduced generaly and the operators (keep up the good work guys )would have cash to invest in things like better search systems, as are regularly asked for . Timewasters are not a big deal, most of them are so easily sussed and we have never encountered any as yet.
