You are permitted to have a friend visit you in your room in any hotel.

People often conduct business and have other types of personal meetings in hotel rooms and front desk staff are fully aware of this.

Front it out and have fun!

I don't think there's a need to sneak anyone into hotels like the Premier Inn. You just meet people outside the hotel and then you can walk through reception and up to the room.

If you are nervous about it, I think the Travelodge near the Law Courts has a separate entrance via the underground car park. So you can get the lift from there and go straight up to the room without going through reception.

In many hotels, you can ask for an extra key card if there is two staying in the room.

I had a hotel meet lately, with a friend. He met me and my FWB outside, passed us the key card so we could get ourselves in onto the corridor, and then into the room. We did not need to use it as a guy in front (just another hotel guest) held the door for us, and we held the door for my friend :D. Easy peasy.

I do think it depends on the time, though- hotels seem to have much tighter visitors policy in late evenings and night time. Some state "no visitors in the room after 11pm", but again having 2 key cards should solve that issue.

Sandman at St James Park didn't need a key for the lift last November.

If you don't mind being around Ouseburn, I noticed a few apartments available on booking dot com which seemed to have decent access.

The hotel indigo and Crowne Plaza have easy access and no key cards needed for the lifts.

We’re arranging a meet on the 23rd around Newcastle but haven’t booked a hotel yet for this reason. 3rd person access without having to guide them up. Looking at the jury’s inn on the quayside ?

The hotels we have stayed in in Newcastle have had bouncers on the doors from 8pm. Not sure if that is the case during the week, but we have seen them on a Friday and Saturday.

The Vermont Hotel has a lift, which can be accessed not using the main door but you need a key card to use it.

Grand in Gosforth next to the race course is the best. No key cards needed, good rooms and cheap too

Jury’s In at St James Gate and Sleeperz both had people checking and ticking off rooms and number of people per room. I heard Sleeperz have had issues with people booking aroomandending up with lots in there……and not for swinging

Malmaison , Copthorne and The County all fine though????
