There should be a facility to search members by ethnic groups, will make it alot easier

Just type "asian", "indian" etc in the username search and it will turn up anyne who has that in their profile text. We use it and it works

As another poster says type asian etc stuff will come up i assume only reason i queried it was would it involve lot of work for mods etc.

Whats wrong with putting 'Asian seeking Asian' as your profile header or in your status update?.

It does make us wonder how much people want everything to be done for them sometimes without using a little of their own initiative and a little effort.

Thats true, however the search facility, even if your idea was adopted, is only as good as the information put in by the user.

For example, many people retain the default age range of 18 to 99 yet there profile sates no one over 35, or they don't use the Not Looking for Single Males Filter for messages, and then complain that they get messages off single guys.

In other words if you were able to search by ethic type, which presumerably would have to include all races ie white, black, asian etc., it still wouldn't work properly unless every existing user on the site was forced to declare their ethnicity retrospectively.

It doesn't have to be in the username, it will search for that word in any part of the profile
