Does Anyone Read The Profile..?

Our profile clearly states:

We never accommodate due to wanting to keep FAB and home life separate.

Gym fit single guys only.

We won’t respond to messages without pics.

We only meet as a couple in clubs.

Under 40’s if you are a single guy

Still you get multiple messages each day from guys who can’t accommodate / no pictures / over the age range / not gym fit / don’t do clubs or asking if we accommodate (sometimes a combo of a good few of the above).

Most of them prefix the message with “love your profile”. How do you know? You clearly haven’t read it!!!

Then when you delete / don’t respond you get called out. Don’t want to block really for a couple of reasons!

Come on guys get it sorted.

Some read profiles, the vast majority don’t. There are those who say that everyone is as bad (I don’t agree but that’s by the by) but single men definitely appear worse because there are so many of them in comparison to any other group.

The very obvious cut and paste messages are at least a small step up from ‘fuk now’ and ‘wot u up to’ one liners.

People don't read them and just hope for the best, reading requires some effort and it's easier to message regardless.

We get the most messages from single men and attached women playing away, both we state we won't meet.

Even single men get messages from guys (always guys in my case) who obviously haven't read my profile. I really don't get it. Surely the more the profile tells you, the easier it is to decide whether to try a message or not, and reduce the possibility of time wasted in a rejection.

We generally find couples read them, or at least seem to.

I’ve had two dms in the last two days saying they refuse to read the profile unless they get a response first

Apparently reading is only applicable if they get a response

Is this the new trend because I dislike it

We do read them ,it's in our interests to .

Lots of couples don't read either to be fair ,even with filters we get messages where it's clear they haven't read a word.

It's a good filter we think

Fair enough but not my experience, loads of couples contact me, as mentioned above though, it is usually the male thinking I'd want to meet him alone often behind his partners back. It's always single men getting slated and I just find it unfair because they are not alone in not reading / taking notice of what's on profiles, that's all

I actually do and most of time try to a reference to something in the bio if sending a message

I always read the profiles but after some time here I see 3 kinds of profiles...

Firstly the boring ones. Profiles that are so boring that I can not even read half of it before get out of it.

Second, the frustrated ones. People that are angry probably because of traumatic experience in here. I sympathize but for me it's a red light. Why would I want to get in touch with someone frustrated?

Last ones are the ones that doesn't say anything.

In the end all I know is that I have to find out a way to right something really interesting to get a response since most people don't read back my blog or have a look at my verifications.

You can be fairly confident that the men not reading your profile are very unlikely to be reading your post here

We thought this, then realised that lots of people could be reading our profile that aren’t a match and therefore not message, we would never know as they have respected our boundaries. This is a good point. Selection bias. For every message received from an idiot there could be 10 or 50 sensible men who have read and not messaged, especially if rather narrow requirements that most would not meet like OP.

I read women profiles and if I'm not a fit to what they're looking for then I dont bother them. However I don't think people read my profile and its mostly coming from couples (although more likely to be the man half of the couple if the profile is real).

I thought the same, one even tried to chastise me for replying, my reply was to ask if he read my profile because his opener message was ‘great profile’

He said he didn’t read it and if I wasn’t interested why would I reply

The backwards logic was nuts, I blocked and moved on to nicer people

I always read the profile as I'd like to know what they want.

As soon as I see BBC or Black Man I block as I'm not that or have that.

Fab needs more message filters. Bios are majority ignored or poorly written to the point of uselessness. More filters where you can hone who contacts you and who you can contact. Its either a free for all on here or serious time consuming effort draining work.

Just curious why you don't want to block them?

I find not having read my profile is the most perfect red flag insta block. If they haven't taken one moment to even pretend to care what I want, ew. Not one chance I'd go near someone who clearly views me as irrelevant in the experience
