To get it on...

If a ring is involved put the balls through the ring first, then poke the cock through. Not the other way around.

To get the cage bit on (if it is hard plastic or silicone) use the foot of an pair of 20 denier tights/stockings. Put the stocking into the cage (where the cock will go) and pull the toe of the stocking slightly through the cage pee slit so the stocking lines the cage (like a bin liner in a bin). Put the cock into the cage and then pull the stocking through the pee slit. You don’t so much need to be bossy like in a strict sub / Dom setting necessarily. Just holding the key and saying ‘no’ has a huge impact. He has to earn his release, you can be as bossy or not as you want but largely some teasing without knowing when release is coming goes a long way.

The method I found that worked best when putting the ring on is using a long bootlace. I fold the lace in half and put the two ends through the loop you’ve created making a kind of a slippable noose. I put this noose around my balls and pull tight holding the end of the lace with my teeth. Check that both balls are there as it’s easy for one to pop back in. I then push one ball at a time through the base ring keeping the tension in the lace. I use a tiny amount of silicon lube on the ring.
