In my life I have been the happiest when my partner agreed to actively seek other men for sex.

Yep, I totally agree. Just didn't understand that at the beginning. I realise now that our minds work differently. Physical sex for me is driven by pure lust and self satisfaction. Obviously it's hard to give advice or suggestions from a one sided conversation however I will offer this, a fab break could be beneficial to you both, not just your wife, both take some time out and try looking at the whole thing with fresh eyes.
