So the post about a member getting racist abuse is removed and the racist still on here to abuse other people? Unbelievable well done admin!

People don't feel safe on this site because stuff like this just gets swept under the rug and ignored. They should be doing better.

Its likely the admins that ban members and then the mods that delete threads that go against the rules. So 2 different sets of people.

I would hope that Admins get around to dealing with the alleged racism in due course.

Well I am sure if you report the post saying that along the the OP reporting it then admin will deal with it in due course. I say alleged because we on Forum just see one side and anybody could say anything about anybody. I could start a thread and post a status about you but doesn't make it true.

It is indeed a shame the person who got the abuse left - I was trying to reassure him that admin deal with things and just be patient (having had things like that myself before) as I feared he might leave or indeed get suspended himself. However, the Forum frenzy seems to have raised the temperature and not helped him.

We need to call out abuse wherever we see it. In this case I hope Fab deal with the abuser. Yes, we only hear one side of it, but in this case it seems to have been admitted by the profile.

It is possible to report any message, it is probably worth doing it more as certain subjects attract more abuse & it should be stopped.

That's a strange reaction but you should do what you feel you need to do.

The site has always been full of people with questionable motives and I suspect it always will be. It's up to you to keep yourself safe.

If someone reports a profile usually there is then a block between the 2 accounts automatically. It will then be checked by admins when they are able to.

That takes time as they have plenty of other things to look at also I'm sure.

It is not in the admins best interests to ignore racism so I doubt they will ignore it if it did indeed happen.

I was threatened by someone, and they were banned. Or at least they couldn't be found by a friends account, so action is taken, but it takes a little while. I hope this piece of filth gets deleted for the good of the whole site.

Unfortunately this is the ugly side of this site and it’s not the first time I have come across something like this on here. Nothing ever gets done about it.

I’ve had people be racist to me and then they block you so you can’t even report them.

I wouldn't bet on that.

It's a common occurance to get verbally abusive messages when politely declining people.... I'm not saying a lot of people are like that but when you have replied to a couple hundred messages there is usually at least 1.

Would not shock me in the slightest if it was motivated by a declined offer.

Every one on here only knows one side of the story naturally I saw both sides of the conversation and he started the abuse by calling my partner names, because my partner has tried to defend himself he’s being labeled as a racist!

Why? I don't think people can crawl out of the screen just yet. There are a host of features on the site from blocking to filtering out people you're not interested in.

This site is fantastic if you want to meet likeminded adults for sex what its not is tinder/facebook etc.

If fab is to reflect society as a whole then it is likely that there will be racial abuse in some form, as well as abuse towards other minority groups, not to mention those who dare to say no to the self entitled. It isn’t right but until the broader problem is addressed fab will just be a mirror of the outside world.

Then report, block and move on.

If the abuse continues through the open forum then report and admin will make decision on what action to take.

If the the victim feels admins decision is insufficient, then they can report the incident to Police, where it will be dealt with off the site.

I have been on Fabs on my current profile nearly 6 years now.I guess I have been very fortunate in that only one lady gave me racist abuse who then quickly left. I am 55 years of age I don’t know how much time I have left in this world so it is with sadness that I say I don’t think we will get rid of racism in my lifetime

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******

All reports are checked and dealt with if needed no matter how many people say "nothing is done " I have pasted ( again ) what Admin say they do with reports on the post above.

Racism amongst other things is against site rules, just like starting another thread when one has been removed is also against site rules
