Sadly, in our experience, it has happened all too often, to the point that Mrs has been second guessing the lifestyle.

There has been one couple with bi woman, who asked, was told no, and never asked again. We have played with his couple a few times and respect them for respecting our preference.

If all couples were the same (pipe dream I know) then this lifestyle would be full of happier people, and threads like this would become redundant.

So, we do know there are couples who do respect others wishes/preferences/choices(enter any additional descriptive here) but they are just difficult to find.

I have zero FOMO.- Fear of missing out. In fact I have the opposite. JOMO- joy of missing out. People exhaust my neurodivergent brain so I have to put tons of effort into socialising and building and retaining my social skills.

the trauma survivor part of my brain says people equals bad so I spend a lot of time challenging that and would rule people out if they make me uncomfortable in any way.

Yeah, I have some hard boundaries that I'm not willing to compromise on for my own safety and sanity but also not a great idea to do things that triggers the hell out of me for people's own protection. Not a pretty sight when I lose my shit, even the professionals get traumatized. there's every day triggers and then there's the type I get which triggers a psychotic episode.

It's not worth the risk for me to interact with pushy, ambivalent, indecisive, inconsistent people. Better for me with people who say what they are going to do and then do what they say. No surprises or boundary-pushing over here...especially from unqualified people who won't know how to handle a psychotic trigger.

I'm more than happy to miss out.

I have pretty strict boundaries due to my mental health and autistic traits and when I stay within those boundaries, I'm always rewarded in the most beautiful way because I've stayed true to myself and I feel the most safe and secure and connected with those people who are capable of staying within my boundaries despite their own desires.

I used to be a people pleaser...that lead to psychotic breakdowns. So I don't do that anymore.
