Hey, has anyone got one of the cheaper (~£100) IPL laser hair removal devices which are for sale on Amazon.

I hear about the high prices of professional treatment but are the much cheaper devices capable of achieving similar results at a fraction of the price?

Branded devices are ~£300 - is this just paying for a name or does the quality significantly increase?

Hi there,

I used a cheaper one with no luck, went in the bin after a good few months.

Then bought the Phillips Lumea one and it's really amazing - been using it for a year now and there's hardly any hair regrowth - just need to keep on top of any fluff every so often. It's a game changer, especially for someone with dark hair like me.

Good luck whatever you do.

Jess x

Ok interesting. So maybe a branded name is worth the increased price then

We have the phillips expensive one as well.. only takes a few minutes occasionally and the hair grown is very, very slow and it stays smooth longer (no chicken skin).

We found it worth it and both can use it.

I've been using a cheaper one now for the past 2 weeks and it's definitely slowed down hair growth and I've started getting areas where hair doesn't grow back, It just won't be a conclusive yes they are worth it to me until I've used it a bit more, I've never tried a branded one so wouldn't know the difference

Yes, IMHO, but my hair is dark and used to be thick, even though I waxed for years. The cheaper one slowed down growth, but nowhere near what the Phillips did. I guess it all depends on how much and what colour hair you have as well as your pain tolerance. I used mine at full strength initially.

If you need any more guidance, feel free to reach out.

Jess xx
