I work long-term contracts 3-24 months all over the UK. This site used to be a great way to meet like-minded souls in new places and to develop some strong relationships too. There seems to be a reluctance now to meet a man staying in a hotel (or maybe it is my age?) Such a shame, it’s no fun on your own.

Not a whinge, just more of a lament - meeting new people has always been time well spent.

Or are women no longer interested in being wined and dined, as well as entwined?

Are you contacting people you're interested in, well in advance of you staying op?.

Most offers I get are sent the day before or same day ,so I won't be interested in a quick meet.

If I got to know someone well & they were in the area for a good while I might feel differently.

Wined and dined in a travel tavern with scampi in a basket and a couple of glasses of blue nun may not be so entwining!

That’s probably the biggest issues. I’d not be keen to meet anyone short notice but if I’d been chatting to someone with a view to meet them when they were in the area then it would be different

Unfortunately you're also part of a demographic (single male), of which a significant number use the 'Travelling Business Man' persona as an excuse to cheat on their wives. This may put many off.

What may lift your spirits though is, we don't just meet people for sex. We often need to take a family member to a nearby town for them to compete in one of their tournaments. When doing so, we need to wait around for a couple of hours in the evening, so we can take them home again.

We sometimes kill that time by contacting single guys who have posted a meet for that day, and asking whether they want to meet for a coffee and chat in one of the local bars. About 1 in 20 take us up on the offer. The rest aren't interested in meeting because they aren't guaranteed sex.

I travel weekly on business and met some great couples and single females that have visited my hotel for fun.

Some like it others don’t that’s the way it goes
