That's not really ghosting though. Conversations usually come to a natural end

They probably changed their mind but it would have been nice to let you know

No one owes anyone a reply.

I reply as and when I want to, even if I’m online.

My life doesn’t revolve around fab.

Unless they’ve arranged to meet you at a physical time and place and not arrived, I’d not over think it.

Common decency would dictate you let someone know you've changed your mind... like common sense..it's just not that common anymore...

We will chat & then if it's not possible to meet or chat anymore we just stop & message as no point to ping pong messaging. We don't block often only pushy people who don't get the message.

Why not one last massage saying that...I know the fab rule no reply is a reply I get that, but chatting with someone but just to get ignored out of the blue that the problem I have with it..

Not worth it with the amount of abuse you get in my opinion. No one ever just says thanks or ignores your no thanks.

Chats can dwindle, personally small talk for me too long I'll loose interest, unless someone has made an arrangement to meet then I'd just forget about it these things happen.

Yes it would be nice to say sorry I'm no longer interested however this usually leads to a why not and another few to try and carry on the conversation.

Sometimes things fizzle out and people change their minds and that's ok.

Some conversations just fade out and attraction can fade too. Personally I don't want to have a conversation about why I don't want to have a conversation.

Sometimes I reply to messages just to say I'm not interested but it's usually taken as the beginning of a negotiation.

Yeah this, I don't like small talk and I'm not on fab for small talk. If that's all a conversation is then I'm not the person for them.

People can change there mind.

Ghosting is more when you've had a relationship or connection that is in the physical sense. And no explanation is given.

If you haven't met in person, have an established relationship then it isn't ghosting.

I find it a bit weird when they stop replying, which is of course fine, but still look at your profile multiple times a day

I do feel it could be a more pleasant experience for all of people were more upfront and expressed there's been a change of mind.

I assume people instead choose to say nothing, in order to avoid the uncomfortable conversation and any pleas as to why or abuse that sometimes follows.

It's a broken society, OP, and online makes it easy for people to show that.

If it's happening often, maybe consider if you can adapt your ways.

It happens to many of us, even after the person has initiated contact, asked for more contact and been super keen. Initially it’s confusing, annoying even but it’s the way it is and you can’t change it.

I thought it was just me.

But sure that's fab.. and particularly any online chats where you haven't met in person. My jokes are always funnier in person.

I can see both sides. I can't imagine the amount of messages and abuse some people get on here so can see why the easy option is to just stop and block.

Having been on the receiving end of that many times it's just not nice and I'd much prefer a simple explanation, even if ended with please don't get in touch. Surely making people feel bad is more likely to make them abusive?

As for me, I've just learnt to accept that's how fab is and you just have to persevere and make the most of the good times. Have fun all xx
