when and when not to give out numbers

I have given out my number in the past and it got used to make a false identity which caused a right mess for me, however tonight my caution cost me some fun, so advice people? When should I give out my profile

Do you mean your number?

If so, you need to have a swing phone, used exclusively for this. Then you will have no problem giving out the number, and you wont miss out on fun.

I would be so reluctant to ever give out our personal numbers, swing phone definitely the way forward

ive had ladys message me ther number after one conversation which i told them wern't a good idear im not a wierdo but plenty on here are thought it was dodgy alrite if its a play phone but at least two wer personal numbers x

As others have said have A cheap £10 pay as you go mobile that you use just for swing meets, then you only have to have it switched on during times your arranging meets and don't get pestered. Most people will assume you aren't genuine if you refuse to give out a number to confirm a meet

Personal mobile

Swing phone

No room for my purse which is bulging (from all the coppers not notes!)

Definitely a swing phone was a good idea, except the credit went far too quickly

I have a play phone, on contract £8 a month unlimited texts... its great, as if I am off doing family stuff it gets left at home, and the only people who can then actually contact me are the ones , i want to ..... xx

My phone is a fuck phone, every month I get the bill I say fucking phone !

A second phone is important, I had a old number copied somehow and got a massive bill run up. Think it was a common problem with the old analogue phone, digital is harder to clone.

Just got to be so careful with personal numbers.

A swing phone does seem the way forward, I have no idea how they did it, but they managed to use my number top make a false identity and take funds out of my account caused a right mess

The only issue is explaining why you have "another" phone. One of my brothers recently saw it and now thinks I am a drug dealer with all my phones!

But a cheap pay as you go phone for Fabs.

Not sure how anyone can create an identity from your phone number though, it's DOB, addresses etched they to , to set up second identities

They can't access your bank from a phone number, more likely your Internet was hacked and they got your bank details, or your card was cloned

Unless the know someone who works for the mobile company!!

The account will hold personal details as well as bank details for direct debits or card numbers if used!

It's possible!!

I used to be very forthcoming with my number until a rather unsavoury incident left me getting a new number and a man with a harassment order out against him.

Now I very rarely give out my number (unless its to people who are friends on the forums) if I can verify someone is genuine by seeing them on cam and I can contact them on here to make final arrangements then that's what I do.

As others have said it is impossible to steal someones ID from just their phone number...

Swing phones are an undeniably sensible option as others have said.
