I can't decipher text speak.

In the good old days when you had a limited number of characters per sms, fair enough. But with autocarrot and predictive text, it doesn't take that long to type a message?

Because I don’t have a clue what they’re saying. Someone messages you and all it says is Hu ? seriously Hu . People can make an effort

I belive it was good when we had to send message from basic phones text talk helped to save time typing long messages, but with smart phone it is absurd, maybe lethargy forcing some people to use

In my opinion it is a very useful filter, as is poor spelling, punctuation and grammar, the filter that tells me not to reply.

We used to ask for a translation but often that didn't make sense either so we just delete now.
