One of my closest friends I’ve known since I was a teenager is a woman. Obviously she sees the guy and any of my peccadillos are not an issue.

My own experience has been mixed, the overwhelming feeling I've had is superficial liking from people. Chemistry plays a big part in all relationships, regardless of gender identity. Equally a lot of people are busy juggling work/family and struggle to retain fleeting friendships I guess.
