Learning about timewasters

I've recently set up two separate meets with a couple and single female.

I drove 30 miles to meet the couple and was told I would get the house number when I got to their street, when I got there, they had turned there phone off.

I took a day off work to meet the female and was let down last-minute...

frustrated to say the least, I'm guessing this is a regular problem on here??

It happens. Sounds like you have had bad luck early on. I never leave for a meet unless I can talk to them just before on the phone. I would never head out to a meet unless I had a full address.

Most of the time I prefer to meet at mine simply because I do not want to be left standing outside a pub, etc, for a no show. I've had few problems since I decided to do that.

Some like a social meet first. Others like to cam face to face to make sure the person is genuine.

You just need to find what works for you.

I don't know if its a regular problem but it is mentioned in the forums quite a lot. I think if someone wouldn't give me their house number up front I'd take it that they were potential fakes. We always arrange a social meet first so at least we're in a pub having a drink if someone doesn't turn up.

I had it when I first started meeting - guy on another site allegedly arranged a hotel room. I turned up and the bugger hadn't even booked in. I was left red-faced and shagless!

Same here on another site I arranged to meet in a pub 60 miles away ( but was near to where I was working so thought ok) arrived at the pub but couldn't get any Internet or phone signal so after a drink and nothing I ordered myself some food and made the best of it......... The excuse was she forgot and hadn't checked her mail

Regardless of what a profile says if its over a 10 minute drive take some time and confirm they are actually real.

Get them on cam, get a full address etc etc

only talk to people with verified profiles, this is no guarantee but it at least indicates they do indeed meet (if the verifications confirm it of course).

Most of all, use common sense this is the internet it might be a swinging site but its still the internet and you have just as many weirdo's creeps and oddballs as you will find on any internet based website, hell because its a "sex" site there seem to be even more of them.

should have met us instead lol. It happens to most people here, we decided to meet in hotels only, at least one has a night out away from kids that way. No shows can drive you mad though....

Its very easy to get sucked in by this world and we have all made rookie mistakes in swinging just chalk it up to experience and learn from it.

Get yourself to a local club on a "single guys" night, get to a social in your area, get onto the chat room for your local area and get to know real people and remember if it looks too good or sounds to good to be real on here it/they probably arent real (even if they have a flag or tick).

When we meet, it's after numerous texts between all three of us and phone calls, normally when we are both together to enjoy the build up.

But we always make plain too that we will meet the person in a public place and take it from there. As is stated above, this is the Internet so there are no guarrantees.

But in this site's defence, our experience so far has been that the twats are in the minority.

Maybe time to take a step back and look at what went wrong. Ok you feel that you were messed around (there are two sides to every story).

Look at where your vulnerabilities are and re-adjust what you are doing.

What's really annoying about the flakes and fantasists is the lack of communication. Randomly disapearing from the site, leaving you waiting in the pub and not answering phone, never being free for months but being really keen.

Why not say you just want email fantasy or you are shy and nervous!?
