I’ve seen a couple of ads lately where people have suggested that they would appreciate ‘rewards’

Not exactly asking outright for cash….but strongly hinting.

What are people’s thoughts….?

Completely against the spirit of the site or reasonable?

I have my own views, just wondered what the consensus was.

Well you can report them or, just block so they don’t pop up again. It’s what I class as being against the spirit of fab but, there are people (guys) who enjoy that kind of thing
