Would you still meet

Would you still meet a "couple" from a single guys profile. We've been approached a few times like this, either a full couple or fwb situation yet on a single guys profile. There's no picture of the female, she's not on fab etc.

Are we paranoid not to meet like this or just careful of time wasters?

I would ask to chat to her on the phone and a pic sent by her.

Not paranoid at all

No. I wouldn't meet a woman in any capacity without independent verification she existed.

No I'm v cynical and would need proof he has permission.

My other half has my full consent to meet alone ,I will happily verify this and we have a joint profile too.

Sorry i read it wrong

No ,I still wouldn't,I don't get why they couldn't have a joint profile if they're a genuine couple.

Seems like a red flag but you could facetime to see if legit

I have a friend with benefits and I've approached couples before from my single profile If I was you just for safety I'd ask to speak to her on the phone and ask for a pic of something specific like you have to on here to be verified a pic with the date or something x

Nope.

Aside from the fact we're not looking to meet couples at the moment, if we were then unless they were planning on attending a club the same night we were then we'd not be interested at all in chatting. We'd simply suggest they see us there.

There's more than enough genuine couples without having to risk engaging with an invisible wife/GF/FB that may/may not exist.

If one gets in touch just tell them to try again once their couples profile is set up and verified. You'll likely never hear from them again. Ever.

On the rare occasion I've been involved in this kind of setup, I've started the interaction. Otherwise people think my friend is making me up

No we wouldn't. Single profiles men and women have asked us to meet with them and their partner. Why would we do that when it's so easy to set up a free couple's profile?

Let me put things a different way. And bear in mind this is a 100% true story.

Many moons ago I was approached by a single guy asking if I wanted a threesome with him and a woman he'd met a couple of times.

I'd been on here a while and had heard that story many times before. So I told him to get her to message me. And lo and behold that same day I had a message from a single female profile, verified by him and another couple. So we chatted and things were looking good. I still had a niggling doubt that all was as it seemed so had they suggested meeting them both at some random hotel I'd have said no thanks.

But she suggested that as I was up and down the M5 like a yo-yo that I popped into hers for a coffee one day. So I made a planned pit stop thinking that if the worst happened and she was a he, or nobody answered the door, I'd lost nothing but 20 minutes of my life diverting a couple of miles off the motorway.

I arrived, rang the bell, she answered, I has a coffee and a good chat and we got on like a house on fire so I told her that I'd sort a hotel for the next night for the three of us to meet.

He stood us up. We had a ball. We've now been married nearly 8 years and together for over a decade. We never heard from him again and he left the site shortly after we first met. His loss, my gain.

Had she not had a profile on here and just been a mysterious FB of some other single guy on Fab, I'd have binned the idea outright and would still likely be single now.

Seeing is believing. Contact is essential when you're potentially looking to meet someone that isn't on Fab so if you entertain the idea at all I'd recommend two things. Get a phone number for 'her' AND arrange a social close to home where you're not inconvenienced by travel, cost or time.

If you don't? It's on your head when 'she' turns out to be a figment of his imagination and you end up meeting a single guy rather than a couple.

See that's just it, you had some way of verifying, were always told that they don't want to be on fab etc etc,

Women and couples are terrible for this. The amount of 'single' women who suddenly gain a husband or partner. Just be upfront and honest about it on your profile, all singles alike. That way whomever you're talking to (if they've bothered to read the profile) will already know that sometimes the partner will come along

Fell for this once, think it was just a pic collector.

I don’t think you’re paranoid, if they were serious/real, then they would make more effort, not even a body pic = big red flag

Apologies if I misunderstood but everyone is commenting on whether they could be fake or not. For us is ... Why on earth would we meet a couple without having seen both him and her? We want to know first if we are attracted.

Absolutely not.

I'm sometimes dubious of some of the couples profiles on here - which are clearly just a bloke with no female involvement whatsoever

Definitely agree with you m8 .there's too many guys on here with couples profile. When you ask where abouts the Mrs is she is always sleeping or working.

Something I've heard often is "if you don't ask, you don't get". As in, they'll ask even if it's unreasonable, because you might say yes

No. We both have singles profiles and we know singles who are also part of couples. But the difference is the people we know with singles profiles who are a couple are people we know in the real life world. As a rule of thumb you need to.take strangers off the Internet with a massive pinch of salt. When your time is so precious why risk anything that feels a bit iffy? That's generally why we don't meet people we don't know in person and stick to clubs for making new freinds.
