It becomes blatantly obvious (sort of) very quickly what you are surrounded by...

Single people (quietly confident or a little deceptive).

Friends of the staff.

The staff themselves (happy and sad days).

Scared couples sat alone in the corners.

Four people pretending to be the utter social (but they worked out the meet earlier) and give evil looks to anyone who might join in and ruin it.

Half bored regulars after a chat.
