So I had a massage yesterday and the lady had me strip off totally naked and massage everywhere, front and back, it was the first one I’ve had, is this normal? Anyone else had a massage where this has happened? I only went in for a back one!

Having been to Thailand, and had massages there, you are normally given some loose pj type clothes to wear, the massage is very physical, with a lot of manipulation, certainly not done naked, and is normally an all over one.

In Thailand, there are basically three types of massage:

1.Therapeutic – to relieve pain, etc., normally found in health clinics. For both sexes. The massaged area may be restricted to the site of the damage. Happy endings are not normally available.

2. Pleasurable, normally accessed in beauty salons and hair dressers. Mainly for women. The massage area will be “as required”, normally back, neck, or legs, etc. Happy endings may or may not be available.

3. Brothel in disguise, normally accessed in massage parlours with the masseuses sat outside touting for customers. Mainly for men. Full body massage, including back-walking. With a happy ending for an extra fee paid to the (naked) masseuse, by private arrangement.

3a. There are also “soapy” massage parlours, which are type 3, but involve soapy body-to-body rubbing. One of these used to be my Christmas present to me until Annie’s on Sukhumvit soi 2 closed down a few years ago. Scunthorpe was never like this!

I would say it doesn't. A "Thai massage" is performed both clothed, usually in baggy PJs, and resembles being worked over by a Turkish wrestler....

A "Thai" performing a massage could be oil, foot, head and shoulder etc.... or the good ol' rub and tug.

I’ve had various Thai massages at different places, and sometimes being nude is a normal part of a legitimate service, sometimes you’ll be clothed. If it’s a legit business and not offering sexual favours, if you are nude, then will usually keep a sheet or a towel over your junk, and fold parts of it out of the way when stretching your legs or massaging glutes- but sometimes they won’t bother and you will be nude and uncovered.

To be clear, “Thai massage” is not a euphemism for a massage with sexual contact included, it is just unfortunately becoming synonymous with that sort of business.

If you were otherwise happy with the service, I’d suggest that if you go back, you just tell the masseuse you’d prefer to keep your underwear on or a towel over you- I’m sure they’ll be totally happy to work around your preferences.

4. There’s a ladyboy (katoey) massage parlour on Sukhumvit between Sois 5 and 7. I’ve never tried it, but have been told that the men inside aren’t nearly as sexy-looking as the pair sat outside

I’ve never had a Thai massage but there are 2 Chinese massage parlours in Wolverhampton that I visit regularly and they always tell me to get naked. Before my first visit I had been told by a friend who’d been before that I’d be told to get naked so it wasn’t a surprise to me on my first visit when the masseuse told me to get undressed and lie on the massage table. She left the room while I got undressed and as I didn’t know what the protocol is I was lying on my back when she came back into the room, much to her surprise, and she had to tell me to turn over and lie on my front.

Whenever I’m hungover I go for a massage, it’s a great way to take my mind off how rough I feel, especially when I’m receiving a hand job and getting my prostate massaged at the end.

I don’t think there are many men who would turn down a happy ending just because they aren’t naked. I can’t imagine anyone saying ‘well I’d have loved a happy ending if I was naked but it’s too much effort to remove my boxer shorts so I’ll decline your offer’….

The minimum daily wage for unskilled workers in Bangkok is currently B336 (£8.50).

Factory workers are paid maybe B2,000 (£48) per week.

Masseuses my charge B2,000 for a “happy ending”. This is on top of what you will have paid for the massage. And it’s what an ugly old fart like me can expect to pay a bar or street girl for “short time” – one pop in the hotel room..

If you’re a “sexy-man”, you may be able to bargain the price down to B500 (£12). I’m very definitely not a sexy-man, and I never bargain for sex because I think it insults the girls and they need the money.

I don’t think I’ll be holidaying in Wolverhampton instead of Bangkok.

Stayed in thailand in past and it is quite common to get happy ending if its starts with making you naked. Some places although its started with a bagggy pjs but with extras you will get a happy ending. Few places offer rimming as well as the service is out of the world. Not sure if you get any of that here
