I messaged my now partner on here first, nearly 5 years ago now, as he appeared to be intelligent and one of the "good guys", by how he was presenting himself on the forum and on his profile. Then, 2 days later, I broke my knee, badly, ended up in hospital for nearly a month. I did message him to say to just forget about me as I had no idea how long I'd be in hospital for and what my mobility was going to be like once out. He stayed, was a great moral support through the hospital stay- online only as I would not allow him to come visit me on the ward as I didn't want his first memory of meeting me in person to be associated with hospitals. We eventually met on Halloween that year, after I got settled a bit at home, and we're still going strong 4.5 years later. We have our ups and downs, like everybody else, but we're still plodding on.
