I would say possible personally, lol. I do mean that seriously. If in chat and someone strikes a up a convesation of interest rather than the inability to string more than 3 words together. E.g. "hey", "wanna meet?", "get your tits out"or "Are you viewing, watch me". Then i.might have a look at their profile

I saw a comedian (I can’t remember who) doing a set on tv talking about how men will decide within a millisecond of looking at a woman whether they want to have sex with her, and that’s every woman they look at. Obviously it only really applies to women we don’t know who we’ve never seen before, like when we’re in a public place and every woman we look at the first thing we think is either I would like to have sex with her or I don’t want to have sex with her, every woman we look at that same thought process happens. Before I saw him saying that I hadn’t realised i do it because it’s really a sub conscious thought, I do it automatically and it’s one of those thoughts that happens in the back of my mind that I don’t notice unless I actively make myself be aware of it.

I probably haven’t explained that very well and now you all think I walk around judging woman and fantasising about having sex with strangers but it’s not like that at all, it really is just an instant, impulsive thought that the majority of the time I’m not consciously aware of but it is definitely the first thing I think whenever i see a woman for the first time.

Similarly when I see a man for the first time I’ll go through a sub conscious thought process of does he look cool, does he look intimidating, should I be wary of him or does he look harmless and non threatening, is he good looking etc…

I’ve always wondered whether every man does this and whether it’s something women do as well.

Really? That’s what you notice first? So you don’t notice the way he looks first, whether he’s handsome, well dressed, tall or short, beard or clean shaven…you don’t notice anything about a man when you first see him until you’ve spoken to him for long enough to find out if he has a good sense of humour and is easy to talk to, and that’s the first time you notice anything about him?

Seems weird then that in the ‘sympathy fuck’ thread your reply to the question ‘would you have sex with someone who had a great personality but wasn’t physically attractive’ was ‘if there’s no physical attraction then there’s no sex’…

Lol...As I have just replied in the other thread - attraction isn't just about appearance.....!! I am shy and not a fan of being around people much, for a variety of reasons i wont go into here, so yes - if someone makes me feel at ease, male or female, that's the first thing I notice about people. I find it really sad that you can't get your head around the fact that attraction is about more than just looks for me...

What I can’t get my head around is that you notice absolutely nothing about a man at all until you notice if he has a good sense of humour and makes you feel comfortable. It’s takes a while to suss out someone’s personality and in that time you must notice other things about him.

When you look at a man you’ve never seen before do you really not have a single thought about the way he looks?

And please don’t assume that because I’m saying that the first thing I notice about someone is their physical appearance it means that I only care about physical appearance. It’s just natural to notice someone’s physical appearance before you notice anything about their personality because you’re exposed to their physical appearance before you’re exposed to their personality.

It’s like saying the first thing you notice after a steak is how tender it is…being tender might be the most important thing I look for but it’s not the first thing I notice because I can’t know how tender it is until I cut into it. The first thing I notice is probably the size of it but that doesn’t mean that I care more about the size of it than anything else.

Can you get your head around that?

Within seconds of meeting someone, I'm either at ease with them, men or women - I like both because I'm greedy - or I'm not. That's it. That's the first thing I notice about people. If I'm at ease with them, I'll then pay attention and notice other things about them that I like. It really is that simple for me...

And again - as I said before, multiple times now: the thing I notice first is whether or not I'm at ease in someone's company - him OR her. Just because that's different to how your brain processes information doesn't mean it's wrong. If you're hung up on appearance, or whatever, that's you thing. It's different to the way I think, and guess what? THAT'S OK!! As I replied somewhere else to you, enjoy your night.

It's different to the way I think, and guess what? THAT'S OK!! As I replied somewhere else to you, enjoy your night. "

Can you explain why you think I’m hung up on appearance? I’ve stated that appearance isn’t the most important thing but it’s the first thing you notice. How can you notice someone‘a personality before you notice their appearance? Unless you’re approaching people with your eyes closed and you don’t open them until you’ve worked out whether you like their personality. Don’t forget that you said a good sense of humour is the first thing you notice as well….

What about when you see a photograph of someone you’ve never met before? Don’t you notice anything at all about them? Are you unable to be attracted to someone when you’ve only seen a photograph of them? If you’re saying you can’t be attracted to someone until you know you feel at ease with them and that they have a good personality then that must mean you can’t be attracted to someone you’ve only ever seen a photo of. You can’t be attached to any celebrities that you’ve never met either. When you’re looking through profiles on here there’s no point looking at the profile pictures because you won’t notice anything about them that you’re attracted to…you need to meet them before you know if you’re attracted to them.

And if you’re saying that you can tell within a few seconds of meeting someone whether or not you’re at ease with them then you must be going by their appearance because there’s no way you can find out enough about someone’s personality within a few seconds to know if you like their personality or not. Within a few seconds all you’re going to do is say hello, maybe shake hands, say something like ‘how are you’ or ‘ are you having a good night’ so you’re not learning much about their personality in that time. You must be going by whether they have a friendly smile, or some other physical attributes that makes you feel at ease. I’m not a shy person and I like being around people and meeting new people but it takes me a lot longer than a few seconds to feel at ease with someone I’ve never met before, no matter how friendly they seem at first.

Within seconds of meeting someone, I'm either at ease with them, men or women - I like both because I'm greedy - or I'm not. That's it. That's the first thing I notice about people. If I'm at ease with them, I'll then pay attention and notice other things about them that I like. It really is that simple for me...

Mrs

That’s fine, I can accept that, but within a microsecond of meeting someone you see what he looks like so you must notice something about his appearance first.

And I’m not saying that the things you notice about his appearance are what will be the most important things in deciding if you like him, I know that physical appearance isn’t the most important thing. But the question was ‘what do you notice first’ not what’s the most important thing you look for.

I won't be explaining myself to you any more. I find your overanalysis of my comments quite creepy, if I'm honest, and that's why you're now on our block list.

Interesting how different men and women are... it's hard to put into words, but the best way to describe it is their bearing and their presence.

Don't know if it's because I grew up in a dangerous country. But I do an instant tactical assessment / Threat Analysis Are they a potential danger' or do they look safe' are they potential threat or rival or do they look like a potential friend or ally.

Then it try to read and asses personally, attitude etc. It's incredible how quickly your brain can read and asses so much data.

And how easily you can form an intense disliking or mistrust for a random stranger

Because "LisaB45" asked what a bi man's perspective was on the question.... I mistakenly thought the forums were a place where we can engage with each other in open discussion,so I responded to her question. Didn't realise there were forum police enforcing arbitrary rules that we're all supposed to be aware of. Where can I get a copy of your bylaws, for future notice?

Carlisle usually

The mouth.

But then, I'm half deaf and lean towards lip reading, so that's where my focus goes naturally.

I appreciate a pretty mouth, and what comes out of it is also very important as to how drawn I am to someone.

This is exactly the point I was trying to make above. The first thing I notice is whether or not I feel at ease. If I feel at ease, then I notice other things. If I don't feel at ease, I don't pay any attention to anything other than my gut feeling
