Slut is throwing her first northampton group social on her solo profile, done all the usually. Made a forum thread ect and found venue.

But any tips for making it a winner? What have you done, seen or experienced that just made everyone feel welcome

East Sussex

The most successful socials we've been to the host/ess has introduced people to each other, circulated during the evening and ensured nobody is left alone.

Hope it goes well

Will take all that to heart. Definitely want to make sure the social is sociable

Also the hosts stood outside to welcome people we found that quite reassuring

I don't think you'll have any problem you seem very welcoming

I used to organise them years ago with a friend.

For me it was about chatting to people and ensuring no one was feeling awkward stood on their own. Making introductions to people and trying to involve everyone

Also keep an eye on how much people are drinking. If someone is looking like they might cause an issue, defuse it quickly x

Oooo hadn't thought about the drinking bit.

I don't drink so there will be at least 1 level head

Easy to say but probably difficult to avoid, try to ensure cliques don't form as they do make people left out and likely to look for an exit.

The latest social I went to with my partner, the organisers made up a little quiz about people attending. You could only find the answers by interacting with others. And there were little prizes for the winners.

To be fair, I don't remember most now, only one about us (Which couple like their vampire gloves?) and something like "he might be the tallest here, but they have the shortest name as a couple".

One more thing that I've just remembered- if you can, try to choose a venue where the music isn't too loud. We had to leave one social early as there was a DJ there at the venue who clearly had some Ibiza ambitions. We couldn't even hear ourselves think, not to mention trying to chat with others.

Haha will keep that in mind. The place I'm thinking of has a nice background buzz of noise but you don't have to shout to hear ewchother x
