Are these such a thing anymore? Do any clubs hold these type of parties??

We have been talking about the thrill of not knowing who you could end up with and discussing whether we could go through with it etc lol

i dont think they were ever a thing well not that we have seen in the last 30 years and i plenty off older swingers will tell you they never saw it either ..

swinging is not a free for all so imagine all putting keys in pot to draw someone you dont fancy ?? most swinger we know would not give a freebie fuck itsjust not that easy ... its proberly something born from american porn in the 70s/80s/90s

We recently watched a film and you’re not wrong it was 80s American and the car key party was occurring.

We got talking and got us thinking. A connection is needed for us both but wasn’t sure if they actually happened.

its one of those wishful thinking for alot of men as they think they will get a shag no matter what but i dont think its happened for real or if it has it would be very very few or a room with a few couples who all like each other maybe ..... maybe someone will come along and say they have done it ? ill take a bet it will be a guy who say's its happened

Bern around the scene for many years, ( since late “80’s), clubs, private house parties and the like.

Never seen or spoke to someone that has done it.

It’s a no from me.

Urban myth?

Depending on the car I’d be inclined to take that if I didn’t like the look of the wife

I've always thought this was more urban myth than anything else. Had a few people who know I'm a swinger ask if it's true.

This actually happened in the village I grew up in, for couples who got together and regularly did this. They all eventually ended up swapping partners for real and us kids all got confused when our friends parents swapped around over a year or two

I was actually involved in a few of these parties. They were quite good fun.

Yes, it did happen in the 70s. Usually with a group of people who already knew each other rather than random meets as I remember.

"Yes, it did happen in the 70s. Usually with a group of people who already knew each other rather than random meets as I remember."

This is the only context we can see this working in. A group who already are sexually attracted to each other and just fancy trying something a bit different.

Plus if you have any sense you would pay attention to who has what car!

In that situation it actually sounds quite fun! Although more and more cars these days can just use the owners phone as a key....

I do believe it's more of an intimate party where everybody knows each other. I don't think many would actually do it with strangers but then again who knows .

I always thought they sounded like a lot of fun. Something to cross of my fuck-it list. Something even more exciting not know who's keys I've picked up or who's got mine.

I can go back to the mid 60s and yes "Keys in the bowl" parties were a regular thing at weekends, we had no internet or mobile phones so the local pub was the place to find out who was having the party, in all fairness it was the same crowd at each party with perhaps one or two newcomers which added variety and spiced the parties up a bit.

I moved from the area in the early 70s and lost touch with what was happening on the party scene.
