I can’t be the only one?

I’ve been on and off fab for a couple of years now, met some great people and thought I was good at spotting time wasters by now but recently they’re all over the place I’ve had….

People asking for no drama on their profile but have brought me nothing but drama!

People I’ve been chatting to for a bit, seem to be getting on great, try to organise a meet, then they just go quiet. Next thing you see is a status update complaining no one meets!

People that complain they have no luck on their profile when the only time they can meet is if you go to theirs once their kids are in bed (please tell me I’m not the only one that thinks playing with kids in the house is wrong)

I can’t be the only one…..please share your frustrations!

You def are not the only one, plenty of messers on here, we have had a few that have "gone quiet" after arranging a meet!.

We would be more surprised if someone turned up I think lol xx

100% it’s become so much worse for us recently with time wasters, People going quiet ect. It has become a nightmare for us really ain’t enjoying it currently hopefully it turns around soon x

The people cheating on their partners.

The men that say they want to meet but are actually sat in their parents basement wanking to photos on fab with cheesy crumbed whotsit fingers.

The people that look nothing at all like their profiles.

All the shadow figures insisting they are the best thing

Since slice bread but can’t keep a conversation going going further than a blurry extreme close up dick pic.

(I have a few frustrations right now)

At least 90% of people go quiet on us when trying to arrange a social meet.

Theory being, they are either married (we can spot them every time) or they can't be arsed to make the extra effort.

Have to agree, most don't read the profile . The one liners "HOW YA" Etc. The endless ping pong txts , what are you into, do you do x , y or z. The no shows.

i cant remember the last let down but i will agree ive had to up the picking process to counter those that would mess around if given the chance ... i make it very hard to meet me i have regular guys ive know for yesrs on nearly 30 years one over the 20 year mark i know alot of guys away from the site many who id met in a club at some point so i can be very very picky of fab ..

thankfully there are a lot of men who are serious and dont mess around just have to find one you like thats the hard bit the attraction

On average we only have one or two week days and one wkd a month available for all this silliness.

So unless we are feeling very very confident about the ‘meet’ we typically ask if it’s ok to get together in a club first and ‘Quelle Surprise’ that’s the end of 99% of messages conversations (funny that)

I see many profiles of couples saying “contact us to chat” “message us if you want to know anything” and their status updates saying “looking to meet contact us” or some other similar nonsense. I’ve sent many a polite message expressing my interest in chatting or meeting and 99% of the time there is no reply. I can’t be everyone’s type clearly but it seems I’m nobody’s type are these just messers too? People who don’t really meet and just post such things so people message them!

I'd almost given up on meetings, only today I changed the title on my profile from saying "sorry unable to meet at the moment"

I just got fed up with the time and hassle of at least two hours getting ready including finishing work early, rushing around because you might not be ready in time, etc, etc then realise about 10 minutes after the supposed meeting time that they're not going to show.

It's worse when they go quite as do you get ready because they might be on their way, or don't because they're not coming.

I had to give myself a break as I have better things to do that sitting around waiting for a no show. I remember when getting ready was part of the excitement, the nerves, what are they like, etc. Not anymore, all you think about now is, I hope they turn up.

Definitely not alone; lot's of people talk a good game but then either do not show up or drop off from chatting without cause.

It's a weird game on here and it's hard to sometimes discern the genuine from the fakes or the fantasist.

We hate the whole play time while kids are in bed thing too! This is why we mainly want club meets now, far less chance of a let down and a good night I’d almost guaranteed with or without others to meet there

I've been around fab over 10 yrs now and can tell you it's not a new phenomenon (in my experience anyway) I've always found it very hit and miss with regards to "genuine people" and would say for every 10 people I've chatted to maybe 2 or 3 of them wanted to actually meet and the others just wanted some attention and validation and once they received that from me they'd be onto the next guy. I think lockdown saw an influx of attention seekers and dreamers which doesn't really bother me I'd just prefer if they were honest on their profile like "not looking to meet, just want you to tell me am sexy and move along"

Haha I guess that's the joys of fab, people can use it for whatever personal gratification they like.

No your definitely not on your own on this.

However we both have very VERY busy work and social lives so I'm sure some may say we fall into one of the brackets you mention.

We do meet up & have fun when time allows, but this is not a way of life for us it's extra fun when we can. When we go to a club it's with the intention of playing.

Me too. I'm very limited with free time and I've been called a messer; but I'm not. I just don't get alot of free time and I'm careful who I spend it with

Nope ur not the only one.. my pet hate is "fancy a meet" from a profile with no pic no bio nothing (yes i do use the no public pic filter but they get round it) and then they post statuses saying they cant get meets, also the ones who can only meet on a tuesday between 5 and 8 when the mrs is out

Your post sums up my experiences perfectly (sadly). Interestingly, I thought it was only men that experienced this frustration.

Surprisingly, I’ve had the same problem with the IE website; women indicating they want illicit encounters but have no idea how they will meet for quality time together, i.e. more than a drink after work. Kids and partners tend to get in the way, lol.

I find there are a good few seemingly legitimate couples profiles that cause a problem. It would appear that they both tried a few years ago and have old veris to prove it.

It appears now, usually the woman, has decided not to continue so you find the male on their joint profile either seeking solo meets or pretending to make couple meets as wank fodder whilst never intending to meet.

It is a sad reflection on their character that they now get pleasure from lieing to other people in a way they would have found irritating when they actually wanted to meet.

I'd like to think we are a genuine legitimate couple and we love the social side so would never pass by that opportunity. Often things come up as we have work and home life which is always number one priority but we always rearrange. Scarlet x
