Just a question:-if you come across(!!) a profile that starts with a rant or a moan about timewasters or anything to do with swinging, basically just wingeing about other members,do you bother to read the rest?we don't:-we find its a big put off thinking that it doesn't seem to be a profile of somebody who would be much fun to meet

Yep I agree with everything you said. Its nice to stumble across someone who appears happy, bubbly and optimistic, although I'm afraid I have had to add a little rant to the end of mine recently. Hate having to do it as well, but need must.

Some profiles though, appear so negative and if they are ranting all the way through, it just makes me think, if your not happy, then why be here?

"No. I don't like spending time with angry people."

I wonder if they actually think about that when writing their tirade lol

I tend to skip it and scan the rest. Unless the profile improves dramatically then I really don't bother.

What makes me laugh is that people think the timewasters and fakers are going to read it and think 'oh I won't bother then'! Der!

I fail to see how anyone thinks a ranty/moany/aggressive profile is in anyway endearing.

Angus & Findhorn

if it is a really ranty one, I hotlist as their updates are usually the best

I can think of a few that rant and rant and rant, then ask for a meet... you know a few hours later they will rant & rant again at no one wanting to meet them... one day they will twig that everyone who has either hotlisted them as a potential meet or are friends also read the rants....... and think 'never in a million years'

Profiles that have long lists of requirements from those they meet are off putting to us or the "single fems" that go on to say I only meet with my partner or fb and his word is final contact him on.......... Frustrates us too. The reason I hide my profile is because I no longer meet alone but wish to use forums so I have a couples profile its not hard to do grrrrr

Puts me right off. Aren't you meant to be advertising yourself as good fun company not an angry bitter individual ?

everyone pisses everyone off sometime - get over it and stop ranting and raving on your profile - its very off-putting and no-one really gives a shit.

yes one couple went on for the week prior to the weekend - begging for meets - anybody want to meet us hotel booked etc - then sunday night - sorry we couldnt fit anymore friends in - check their veris - no new ones ( i know they might have hidden them but they dont seem the type to do that )

we actually find them amusing sometimes - but skim over them as not worthy of meeting if they moan all the time -

I usually keep reading to see what the rest is like. Not everyone comes on the forums so most people can only let off steam on their profiles.

If the rest seems ok I might mail and say I agree with their rant/ do they fancy a meet etc.

The profiles that are just one big rant I snigger at and move on. They won't be the kind of person I'd want to meet.

It makes me more inclined to message them and do exactly what they ask people not to in their profile. But I am a pain in the arse

Super ranty ones put me off. I usually don't bother past the second paragraph if it starts out negative and carries on in the same tone.

Peaky Nipples

Ranty and shouty put me off. But then my whole profiles is designed to put most people off contacting me, so maybe the ranty and shouty ones are after the same result but just using a different method?

A big rant can put me off. It's the same as having a huge list on the profile: you must be this, you must be that... etc.

You must jump through all our hoops to be even remotely considered...

I thought swinging was meant to be fun. So let's keep it fun!

I know everyone is entitled to their preference and choice of people they are meeting.

Happy swinging!
