Filters….why?

Quite often on a first message I get sent a face pic. Great, thanks. However some come with those s**pchat style filters. Am I the only one that hates these? Like airbrushed and altered so much sometimes with butterflies around the head. Surely if you meet it’s best to send a real photo as you don’t walk around with a filter on.

See it in the stays feed too with women so not a pop at men

I dislike photos with that kind of filter on. Although I have not received any via Fab...

They are a bit naff ..

Naff is putting it mildly.

Baffles me as to why people/grown adults feel the need to sit in front of their phone and do something so brainless

In 50 years times grandparents pictures will be full of dog ears and rainbows. Filters are rather childish I'd you ask me.

Hate those filters can understand the stickers put to hide things on public pics but not dog ears etc

Totaly agree, it actually puts me off photos where these childish filters have been added, there are far sexier and creative ways to hide identities where required

Op the filters are to make those who have insecurities feel better about themselves and still sit comfortably in the excitement buzzing around the scene

Shame they can't carry a Snapchat filter with them to a social, a meet or a sex party ay loool

Yea any filters that alter the way you look I dislike, obviously we have lots of monochrome but I'm sure people realise we aren't black & white in reality

Few years back when I was on a dating app my bio read thusly

If you’re profile is full of filtered photos then keep scrolling as I have no interest in dating cats dogs or butterflies and if you feel you need these things in your life to meet someone then something has gone very wrong with society”

Hate the bloody things

We would be a bit more wary of people who use excessive filters. Most of the time it's easy enough to recognise if someone has used a "FaceTune" or similar filter.

It's essentially false advertising in the non-monogamy scene. We entirely appreciate that some people may not feel confident in how they look etc but posting an inaccurate image of yourself is far more likely to cause issues than being honest.

From the privacy point, we don't mind people blurring or using stickers to cover identifiable features.

Some shockers out there

We was invited to a ladies birthday drinks in a well known pub chain. We couldn't even find her. Unrecognisable

Eventually the birthday balloon in the corner gave it away. Her hair didn't even look the same.

Dunno why people do it but STOP IT its embarrassing
