What would make you leave a meet or social?

I’ve seen that some people here have abandoned meets or socials for various reasons. Wether you’ve done your research or set up a quick meet, what is the one thing that would make you leave with an excuse?

Could be serious as in false info on profile i.E not the right age or boundaries not respected. Possibly a humorous reason as in they think Michael Fabricant is a nice guy with good hair?

Well, if they looked absolutely nothing like their profile pic and there was an immediate feeling of ‘I’ve been lied to’ then I’d probably want to

If I’m being honest, I’m not one for hurting someone’s feelings. I’d probably get through the social and then send a message thanking them for their time.

I’ve walked away from socials (and more) when the woman I’m meeting has arrived absolutely hammered. Not just tipsy, or even drûnk, but completely smashed.

If they have lied to you about something that mattered to you then they have hurt your feelings before you even met them

I should add, I’ve never abandoned them in that state. I’ve made sure they’re on their own way home (or otherwise safe) first. I’m not a monster.

There’s one to calm the nerves but another to cloud consent. Good man for making sure she made it home

When a non smoker arrives reeking of smoke and extra strong mints. Such a foul odour. More importantly dishonesty from the individual.

I’ve been doing this a long time. I’ve made my excuses, as the saying goes, because of the girl being way past drûnk, five times over the years.

I've never walked away from a social because I've never had any reason to.

I chat to people for quite a while before meeting socially and it has never failed apart from the very first fab meet after two socials.

I've walked out of an hotel room when a woman I had already met twice in a coffee shop decided it was ok to cross serious boundaries with no warning.

So they had their rose tinted glasses on

But seriously, I'd be like you, get them in a cab and go home alone

Poor hygiene, them being d*unk, them being major cat fishes

But also just no spark or chemistry. I know it's not a date or anything but there needs to be something there

See, for me that’s different. That’s a ‘thanks but no thanks’ - not a reason to walk away immediately, just a reason to say goodbye and good luck at the end of the social and not see them again.

If it's obvious at a social that we won't get along we have a drink and then leave. At an actual meet it's anything we find unacceptable including being obvious that one of the couple we're meeting isn't happy.

Things that have made me put the breaks on a meet - Poor hygiene. Not looking like their photos. Being intoxicated. Suggesting using illegal substances. Smokers. Signs of poor health.

All a big big turn off.

They'd lied about age ,smoking

I found them rude or irritating

They tried to push for more than a social, when they'd already been told its only a social first meet.

Not all that North of North London

Only ever happened once when the male half of a couple started a vile racist rant. To be honest, there are a number of similar topics that would see me move away, I have zero tolerance fir bigots.

For me, it would probably have to be if they lied e.g. a fake profile, if there was no chemistry/connection because the whole thing just isn't going to work.. or if there was no attraction to their personality or physical looks.

To date, so this includes previous profiles:

- old pics / lying about their age

- being indiscreet in public

- not being able to get a word in edgeways

- no chemistry

- wanting/expecting to change agreed boundaries

usually boredom/lack of compatibility in person ... I met a woman recently that I have spoken to on an off for a few months . (she was overly horny on text all the time, which I found quite repetitive / dull after a few messages , as it followed a pattern each time . )

Went for a social and well it was just awkward almost from the get go in person (conversation was like pulling teeth) ... I got the vibe she was more just into sexual play / horny chat nonsense on phones/pics . .. .

thankfully she ghosted me after meeting me lol so neither of us had to carry on with awkwardness

For me it's simply looks way to different /lack of personality / interest in person . I will happily just be blunt and say this is a pointless exercise .. shit I will even pay the bill if it's lunch just so I can get out of there and not impact them fiscally .

Time is something I cant be dealing with wasting though for sake of it for too long ..

Someone that is rude to waiting staff.

Arrogance is something else that irritates me enough to cut a meet short too.
