Okay, I was chatting away to a local girl, about likes and dislikes and we said about meeting up this week, no pressure from me,she was replying to my messages and i wasnt inundating her with messages. sent a message today, how was your first day back at work? And then blocked out of no where? not even a " sorry I have changed my mind!" Rant over, bloody annoying though!

i no ur not one hunny, but u gotta say ther are alot that do and in my opinion 4 no reason,i know used in the right way its a useful tool to have, but on many ocassions unfairly used. As in the ops case, i know im gonna get all the maybe she changed her mind, and people are entitled to block bla bla bring it on lol

Maybe she was being polite by replying to your messages and she wasn't interested. Or maybe you said something inadvertently that put her off. The problem with sending a polite thanks but no thanks is that it's often met with abuse.so it's easier and less upsetting to block.

You've said something interesting in the above, probably without realising it. What YOU may have perceived as 'not pressurising or inundating' may not be what SHE perceives. And, let's be honest, sending someone a PM on their first day at WORK when what you're talking to her about is the complete opposite of that may not be a wise idea...... lesson learned maybe..??

Really good point and this has happened to me before. Having a perfectly good exchange of mails and agreeing to meet at some point something happened in conversation that although it probably would not a big thing to others... really did put me off. Now I would not block anybody for that and I would just say I have changed my mind but I guess you are right that it is easier in a way to block.

i just think its rude do u not? i know theres idiots that abuse if a polite no thanks is written, which i do not understand either,i don't mind rejection i get off on it, most guys have got this site wrong, they thought they wer gonna get there kicks getting bjs and fucking endless women, this doesn't happen on here!, but getting blocked and told to fuck off that happens all the time just change ur expectations and embrace removes tongue from cheek..

I think in 6-7 months we've only blocked 2-3 people, really, really have to piss me off before I do that.

I dont get gaazillions of messages, but I have blocked some who may pass a snide remark cos Im not meeting anyone new nor looking to add more to my friends list.

I have even blocked over a (petty I know) friend request when all I've done is said hello back.

Just my choice rather than offending someone further if that makes sense.

Ignoring the fundamental differences between online and real life interactions, then yes if a random person started speaking to me in the street, yes I would probably choose to ignore them. And even if I did speak to them I would reserve the right to end that conversation at any time I chose.

But yes, without a shadow of a doubt. If someone asked me something be it the time or directions then I would be more than helpful. And I'm more than capable of exchanging pleasantries. But if a random person wanted to start a conversation (ignoring that they'd most likely be a bible basher or chugger) yes they would probably get relatively short shrift. Why would I want to get in to a conversation I have no interest in with someone that I don't know when I am almost certainly busy? In a pub or club totally different, but I was asked the question "in the street".

And if the person I chose to ignore was abusive because of it (as in the case of the post I was addressing) I think that would reinforce that I'd made the right decision.

I agree with crystal wheels. The OP wasn't just saying hello in the street. He was trying to arrange a meet with her. The, lady in question obviously didn't want to pursue it for reasons that are her business and nobody elses. She chose to use one of.the tools provided by this site to prevent any aggro or abuse. Again that is her choice.

Thats only his side of the story. People usually get blocked.for a reason whatever.that is. The fact is that this, lady didn't want any more contact for reasons that are her business and her prerogative so respect that and get over it.

I got a few chats in with a 1 verified woman last nite...few mails in, I asked for some pics(as I'd sent my usual face)..so great stuff she sent two fanny shots, which were nice yeah..

avoiding asking for a facepic I asked if she is interested in meeting up(thats still a cue for more chats, not the instant meet)-no reply...all nite.

was nice seeing she'd left the site this morning...glad I wasnt blocked lol
