This is a general question, is Leeds First Friday, exactly as it sounds? The first Friday of every month? Also where do people go/meet?

Yes first Friday of the month. I hear it is now starting in Viaduct but basically people just bar crawl in their own groups.

Julys event is actually a week earlier on June 30th as the original date clashes with Sparkle in Manchester
