So in the local news there's an article regarding unsolicited dick pics and how one woman is now suffering PTSD over the amount she's received.

Now the comments from men are trying to compare cleavage pics to dick pics which doesn't match at all, but outside the fab world, I see an unsolicited dick pic from a stranger is the same as flashing in public, didn't ask for it, didn't want to see if you forced it upon me anyway, but it seems this is the new norm on social media and general dating just to whack a cock out, it absolutely baffles me.

My question is, why do guys send them as a 1st message, have they/you ever had a reply saying that's a lovely peen yes let's date?!

Is it just me confused by the dick pic mentality?

I think I've seen so many I'm desensitised to them and it's just become normal. Saying that when I've received them outside of fab it's still quite shocking

It seems to be a small number of men but they affect so many people

No idea why they like it but I think it's probably more about the reaction than getting any luck from it, much like flashers I guess

I read somewhere, so don't quote any of this possibly misremembered rambling, however I seem to recall a study or experiment asking men a) how they'd feel about the reverse occurring (receiving random vagina pics) b) why they would send dick pics to a stranger themselves.

A was along the lines of, "I'd be happy and excited to get one, I'd feel like this person was interested in me sexually" while B was along similar lines, "if I'd enjoy the reverse, it stands to reason they'd enjoy a pic, and I'm uninformed otherwise for whatever reason"

The experiment then raises the question of ratio, of how statistically men can exist forever with zero interest and interaction, while women tend to get more interest by way of existing. This skews the way that men and women each percieve that initial 'interested interaction', women can and often find it laborious and unnecessary to be attractive and be desired, while men are often starved that way and so perceive those interactions differently

Profiles full of them don’t interest us either and profile pics of just a cock

And there normally the ones you see with the status updates saying how bad the site is there thinking of leaving etc etc

I tend to cut them more slack on here than I would elsewhere, given the nature of the site.

However, when I do state I don't want pictures of dicks in my inbox, I do tend to keep it to a short sharp no as a response.

When it comes from somewhere like Facebook I tend to be a little more vicious.

There needs to be some sort of instant reporting/banning system on social media for unsolicited dick pictures. That would put people off. Maybe even a fine.

Is it serious enough to give your average adult PTSD? I don’t know I’m not a woman so I wouldn’t understand how it feels. However, the unsolicited nudes I’ve received in Insta are more annoying than distressing

Yes there is, I don't know how seriously it's taken or how often it's reported though it seems to have become the norm which is sad, in dreading my little girl growing up with today's internet dating culture

Some people hate dick pics. Some love them. Some are ambivalent.

It's impossible to predict the responses people will have unless it's written in a profile and even then as we all know, some don't read the words.

But it's pointless comparing Fab to Facey, any other social media site or the outside world. Off Fab of course a random dick pic is likely to be far more unwelcome. On Fab you (i.e. the dick pic sender) rolls the dice and takes their chances.

It would be cynical of course to suggest that an unsolicited dick pic from a profile someone was actually attracted to might be recieved differently to one from someone not deemed in any way of interest/attraction.........

I don't send dick pics to women out of free will as it can be seen as harrassment (unless they ask for one) but I dont understand why guys do it in the first place.

You even have guys that have their dicks as their profile picture which as a straight man is a put off so I'm sure it puts most women off too

How does showing your cock indicate to a woman what a man is like sexually?

If anything, an unsolicited dick pic suggests the man is unconcerned about a woman's consent or preferences, which to us is a very large red flag.
