So I’ve gone and bought myself an ebike! Went for a quick spin yesterday on it and oh my days!! It moves faster than a cuck hiding in a wardrobe ha ha

I still havent been on 1 , people keep telling me to have a go but i know if i get on it, ill have to buy 1 myself. Currently, upgrading the full suspension with hope brakes. They dont half stop. Thank god.

Im no expert on a bike but i sure like doing risky things. Cant wait for BPW again

I run Hope Tech V3 on my Hightower and they are the best brakes I’ve used so far.

Glad this thread got resurrected. I'm looking for an ebike; I wasn't into them and then as luck would have it I spent a day demo'ing then and my word they change things. So much more good riding with them. Probably wouldn't use them for xc but certainly running laps on dh trails

I had to get rid of my Haynes which despite hours of work to get rid of air still always felt spongy and the levers came back to the bar grip (it’s the lever piston seals - terrible design). As a bigger guy who likes to go fast downhill this was causing concern. Had some Hope floating discs laying around in the parts box and switched to Hope V4s. Solid 🫡

Got an ebike last year and it was a game changer. I can keep up on the climbs now.

Still ache after rides but it's now from the descents instead of the up hill struggles.

As long as e-bike are the legit kind that assist pedalling. I noticed some pretty hefty price drops over summer and could have picked up a fairly decent one for same money I spent on my FS last summer.

Seen far too many over summer which are basically electric motorbikes/mopeds. Going whilst not pedalling even uphill.

Pisses me off as generally people riding those in roads are normally not wearing helmets either, again if it was a petrol motor they would legally need to.

Dont worry , i get upset when im half way up a hill dying, an a man comes past with his mates on their ebike and say morning " look like you are struggling there"

I'm very tempted to get an ebike, I'm at the age where a long ride on a normal bike is becoming a struggle rather than an enjoyment. I've recently joined a Facebook group for cycling on canal towpaths and old railway lines and it's whetted my appetite.

I'll nod a hello if they look my way. Can't fuck off that quickly since I'm usually towing my teenager up with me lol
