Ummm, actually this term has been offensive for years as it's how slave masters described their slaves. Not everything is 'political correctness gone mad' you know. There are often reasons behind it. If a term offends someone, why would you use it? (unless that is the intention of course)

Anyway, I'm sure there are mixed-race and black people on here.....you just have to look.

Really hate it when people start on the slavery and political correctness debate - hope you realise that most slaves were actually sold by tribal leaders to traders after local battles - just go to zanzibar and look at the chieftans houses - there were also white slaves and that went on for at least 4 thousand years. Unfortunately in our big attempt to be politically correct and to dislodge certain chips from peoples shoulders we forget about the slavery that goes on now right this minute. In India today parents pay off their debts by putting their children into slavery and people in St Lucia and the Carribean work for less than a dollar a day in factories making disney toys and clothes for primark - why not stop talking about it and do something about it!!

Hmmm, I was merely explaining why it was offensive. That's it. I know the original poster wasn't trying to be offensive but hopefully if he doesn't use words that could be offensive, he might get a meet with a black woman! My post was just pointing out how not everything is political correctness gone mad. But you guys have fun.

and also, u say dont say coloured say black, i have heard some people say i aint black i am brown lol so u cant fucking win. i think its good he says coloured that means he is open to any colour and if their are some little green woman about they know where to go

But if he's looking for a particular group of people, then maybe the best thing is to use neutral words to describe them. What with the slavery debate and now this, this thread has turned into something it shouldn't be.

The term used is offensive - you can get sacked for continuously saying it after being corrected. My advice to the poster is don't offend people you are looking to meet. That's it. Nothing more than that. All there is to it. End of point.

as this is my topic and i started it then i should finished it i'm sorry if i offened any body WAS NOT MY INTENTION so i'm truely sorry if i have i come from a large family and with in this family i have an indian sister in law whom have children and a chinese brother in law with 2 children. so i never ment any offence at all

Surely the point is that we ARE all different. It doesn't mean anyone is better or worse. Diversity is a beautiful thing.

What I wouldn't want to see (and I think this is the point you're making) is a situation where people are 'ticking off' various races as they shag them - a bit like real ale drinkers working their way through the CAMRA guide or hillwalkers working their way through the Munros

I've been "colored" most of my life! lol! And I have family that are much darker than I, and I'll tell you all now if they read this silly thread, they'd just laugh at how all you guys are taking this so seriously as there are way more hurtful words to choose from than to call a person "colored"

And the only people I've noticed making a fuss are white people!
