Thought it would be a fun thread.

What things would you ask your dad knowing they will know without googling "how to......"?

Mine is "if you put the heating on and turn all your radiators off will the heating bill still show as if the radiators were on highest level"?

I imagine this thread would do better in the lounge

My dad is a total computer nerd and can tell you pretty much anything you need to know about them. I remember asking him how to send an email when I was 11, and he spent an hour telling me all about the internet and how it works (had only recently became available to the public in the UK)

How to get somewhere without a sat nav while avoiding all the traffic, especially on a weekend. Never needed a map just called him.

How to wire up common light switches at the top and bottom of the stairs. I had to read a manual every time. I have now drawn it out on paper, rolled it up and it's kept in the housing of the switch.

The only interesting stuff my dad knows is things he couldn't tell us.

We once had a school assignment to find out what our dads did at work during a typical weekday. I went back to school after the weekend and when it was my turn to share, I said my dad wouldn't tell me.

The teacher didn't believe me and I had to stay in at lunchtime!
