Just received a friends invite from someone we haven't even chatted with ( how/why ask for friends invite ?) ,

We took the time to read his profile , noticed he DOESN, T accommodate and DOESN, T travel lol , he must be a time lord ......or are we missing something like he, d want us to pick him up to come back to our place???? Lol

I have that on my profile too.

I cant accom as have my son and mum at home and dont travel far as I get lost a lot, besides guys are usually happy to travel to me

I think the form is that you pick them up after one of you arranges something local .

I travel locally only but I also do state that guys should be local to me to save them having to travel far to meet

Tho i dont have dont travel on my profile, i dont travel far, i have kids and i dont drive so only meet at local clubs or local hotels, i dont expect anyone to pick me up or accommodate me, i guess lots of people who have dont travel and dont accommodate are in the same possition as me

As we only meet single guys as per our profile , we, d like to think they, d make an effort to get to a meet , we, re shocked at the idea we, d have to pick them up and take them back afterwards ,

Shocked at the thought .

If they are in the same position as you, then neither would need to travel/accom as you would be together

I ment people who put they cant accommodate and cant travel could be in the same possition as me not people i meet

obviously a meet wouldnt work if neither could accommodate or travel unless they lived close and got a local hotel

i dont think anyone should be the taxi, be you a man, woman or couple, everyone should put the same effort into the meet, i get loads of guys offer to pick me up when i say i wont meet them because i dont drive and where they want to meet is to far for me but i still say no, id sooner not meet someone than have them taxi me about, even if it dont bother them to collect me it bothers me, same with hotel room payments, if i dont have the money to get a room i dont meet i wouldnt let someone else pay, i think its cheeky that people expect this of others, not cause its a single guy, lots of women and couples expect it too, being a man dont make it any worse in my eyes its just as cheeky no matter what sex you are

I think you have fallen into the trap of believing the fab-hype! You've got a new profile, are looking for single guys and I'm sure you have been inundated with messages.

Most of these will not be worth your time reading, true! But it already sounds as if you don't want to make any effort yourselves in seeking out suitable men. Don't be shocked, be proactive...

When we first read the statement of cant accommodate cant travel we read it in the literal sense which is what made us laugh ( as per thread title) as our first thought was " how do they get a meet then?" .

As for us not making an effort , we beg to differ, we may be new to this site but not the scene , we, re well aware that making an effort hopefully means a fun great meet BUT effort needs to be from all concerned in making a meet happen ( imho ) .

Surely putting up " barriers " like cant accom cant travel reduces the chances of fun meets does it not ?

If we meet at a guys own place we, ll take a bottle of wine etc or happy to go halves on a hotel room cost etc , making a joint "effort" & not expecting the guy to make ALL the effort , as thats not fair , but no effort from someone would unlikely raise our interest for taking things further , no matter how nice /good they may be ."

if everyone believed everything on a profile was set in stone...alot of us wouldnt get meets- unless they state specifically why on their profile...its just their own general guideline, like the

Its always seemed simple to me. If someone puts they don't travel then they can't go far.. They rely on public transport maybe? They are happy to go to someones place who is fairly local. I thought it was quite simple?
