How far would you travel for a meet?

So then. How far is too far? Would you stay overnight just to meet someone for fun. Or do you prefer local?

Me - undecided - depends on who it was

First time me and the Mrs met I traveled 2 hrs 30 mins to see her. Normally I would never do that.

Before that 25 mins to the club.

We’ll travel just under an hour it seems.

We don’t like anyone to travel further than that either as there can then be expectations.

If it was good weather, on my motorbike, 50 to 100 miles.

But they'd have to unzip my leathers for me!

I travel the country for work so in theory have no real issue with travelling long distance for meet but it all depends on the person in question, there would have to be a good connection beforehand.

I'm based in Dublin. I've travelled to Belfast, Chester and Lincoln. I do have family and friends in the UK so travel over fairly regularly anyway so try to arrange a meet, even if its a first meet for a coffee.

Furthest was about 50 miles by train but now I prefer local meets and, generally, won't meet a guy unless he picks me up in his car and returns me home.

Also I will not stay overnight.

I live in Newcastle and have family in London, I also use to follow Arsenal up and down the country to all the away games so travelling isn’t that bad of an idea to me as it’s normal.

If it’s a first time meet I wouldn’t want to travel too far but I’ve been know to take last min 4 hour train rides to meet a fwb, spontaneity over long distance can definitely work! Different strokes I suppose

See folk say that?... But let's also be realistic? If you're prepared to pay the flight to rocket to the moon & back for a 'shag'?... You could possibly pick someone up in your local spoons for a tenner if they were obliging

Benidorm

My most recent meet was 2 hours drive. From our chats the odds were it was going to be worth the effort, and it was.

Also it pays to travel more in hope than expectation generally.

I also live literally in the middle of nowhere on a mountain, so the chances of anyone coming here for a first meet are slim to none.

You just have to make the effort.

Furthest was 2.5 hours for my first Fab friend (in Norwich), before that I had a lover in Ipswich, so for three years I travelled 80 miles to see her (just an hour and three quarters). Now my favourite Fab friend is within 20-30 minutes drive.

I prefer to accommodate, but I'm not a hotel, meaning no overnights, at least not until we got to know each other a bit. Also, as I prefer somewhat regular fun to one-offs, I'm not interested in meeting people who need to travel for hours to mine. 1h or 40 miles is about as far as I'd allow.

It’s not about money though, is it? And it’s not a ‘shag’, it’s a person (or people).

I’ve made good friends on here (probably because of forum chat, let’s be honest) and when we want to get together, I’ll make the effort.
