Yes, very easy. Plus it can live undetected in the female for many years before showing up in a test.

HPV in a woman can be very serious. Attend your regular smears ladies!

Another very good reason to not have unprotected sex.

It's the most contracted Sti with 80 odd % of the population having it. (Most catch it first few times they have sex) most have no idea they have it - unless you're a woman and have a smear, they now tell you if you have hpv

Headington, Oxford

Everyone should get the HPV vaccine as it protects against most of the variants that are implicated in cancer development.

Ilfracombe

It's another reason why people should go to the clinic and get checked so you can be vaccinated.

Vaccine against hpv doesn't work if you've already got it (which most people do and don't know) hence why it's given to teens now before sexually active x

Correct. It won’t work against the present or any previous exposure to strains of HPV, as it’s not marketed as a ‘therapeutic’ vaccine. However, older people can still benefit from having it, as the vaccine contains 9 strains (Gardasil), some of which some people wouldn’t have been exposed to.

Why the NHS offers it to teens and men who meet men is because it’s more economically efficient. Which beggars belief to me, considering invasive treatment costing 1000s to treat serious infections and diseases doesn’t match up.
