I don’t know if this is the right place to write this. I just wanted to get others opinion on this and get this off my mind.

A user has just messaged me saying we have a person or persons in common (outside of fab). Find out a couple of messages later he thinks he knows my family members. He said he’ll only tell me who they are by WhatsApp - I of course decline this and say no you can tell me on here. He then proceeds in the same message to get flirty with me - do men really think this will turn on us ladies on? Saying you know our family and then try to get naughty? I’m a bit baffled at the moment.

When I message to ask again who he then goes to block me?! But the thing is I feel like he’s been bit of an idiot as he gave me his number. Not that I’ll use it as I don’t want to escalate anything. I’ve also just hidden my profile for now till I get my thoughts together and others opinions because it could just be my anxiety overthinking this.

And yes I realise I put my stuff in here I should be ready for a family member to see - but this just feels different.

I think you're over thinking don't worry about it and what difference would it make if your family found out you were on here? So you have his number he may well have blocked you on that too just forget about the incident and it will blur into insignificance.

best thing to do is report said user, block and move on, it will no doubt be a ploy to get you to give them what they want (pics a meet whatever).

Don't give the user the time of day.

This can feel very disturbing but remember this. Threatening to do something is very different to actually doing it. He could not really tell your family without some self damage. Also, what does he have to gain. Nothing. He thought he may bribe you to have sex, it didn't work. He may have made it all up.

Worse case is he gives someone your profile name. If you have no face pics fine. Should they recognise you, so what? What will or could they do. They will be just as embarrassed as you, and will probably run a mile. You are an adult, there are literally millions of people playing in this life style. You can do what you want with who you want. Don't let anyone intimidate you, especially a low life scum like this. Xxx it will all blow over xx

I (mr) have had this before, now to me personally it wasnt an issue, all my important friends and family know what i do. (Thats a different story) So It was time to have a play with them and eventually call their bluff to which i did, found out who the person was through a good network of people and reported them. After playing along and finding out details of the guy and making him scared as he thought he could bully his way and get what he wanted.

Seriously, these people are nothing but childish narcissists who want to get what they want and make themselves feel powerful.

I get thats scary but as others have said, we are all adults doing what we love and enjoy - thats powerful enough in its own right, others are just peevd that they cant do it as naturally as others.

If all else fails, block, report and move on, they really arent worth your time or worry xx

He's just chancing his arm it happens on here for some reason people do this thinking it will get you chatting to them. But they never seem to disclose how they know you.If it was genuine they would just tell you from the start. Even though personally I would not contact anyone I know from outside of here I'm just block them and allow them their privacy. I've no interest in mixing both sections of my life.
