Best hotels to meet other couples and head back to the room? Or do we all just use premier inn and travelodge?

No if you book 5 times you move up a level and get 10, 15% off and other benefits…

There's no 'best' chain as many are different.

The ideal venue would be one with a bar onside or nearby, where you could meet without having to arrange to head straight to the room, just in case something made you change your mind.

And one where there’s not two receptionists on duty all evening/night clocking who is coming and going. Automated receptions are great for this.

As to who pays? Our rule has always been as we're going to be staying the whole night (and having a lie in too) then we'll pay. That way when we wany to call it a night there's no issue asking our company to head off.
