Do people have the right to complain to others for having personal choice in what they are looking for on fab? For example, someone only wanting black men? Or men under 25 years old? Why should they be criticized for their preferences?

Not at all, best to be open and honest. If you didn’t have that and someone messages that you aren’t interested in

Then is a waste of everyone’s time isn’t it

No and we've even seen people play the race card when being rejected.

But why should people get criticized?

I honestly believe that some people are just looking for reasons to be offended and criticise.

Im fairly new to the forums, but im seeing it lots on here.

In theory, rational thinking people should accept everyone has personal choices. Even when they are the complete opposite of their own.

But, unfortunately, some Forumites lack rationality

Its fine by me

But as many use the feedback to complain that they arnt getting the meets.

Isnt there anybody available on this site.

I tend to see it as both ways you picked your prefs you therefore dont have the right to complain to others.

I think sometimes the language used causes offence to some people. Also if its a females profile or a males seems to alter the amount of offence that is taken.

nobody has the right to complain to someone else for their personal preferences.

for example I messaged you OP previously (and as I didn't fit your criteria) you wasn't interested and I think blocked me. that doesn't then give me or anyone else the right to criticise you or attack you for what your searching for. Unfortunately this site has some very toxic People on it, however there are way more lovely people on here than those toxic trolls.

dont let anyone make you feel like you aren't allowed to have your Personal preferences. no matter how much they insult you.

if you want to be shallow be shallow if you want to give anyone and everyone a chance there do so.

only you have the right to choose what you want

And just because we set preferences when someone ticks those preferences we still have a right to say no thanks... there is lots of complexities when it comes to finding suitable people

I'm black and under 25 years old so please flood my inbox!

Seriously tho it's sad that people have this fetishization for race and age.

Unfortunately these people are too stupid to realize it's dehumanizing.

Age, race are not important to me, it's personality and sense of humour that attract me. The only thing that wi da me up is when profiles say "must be gym fit". It's like they are saying people who have never been near a gym in their life are sub human and worthless.

No that’s not what they are saying. They are simply stating their preference for peoole with bodies that appear “gym fit”.

It is a bit of an insane leap to go from someone simply preferring to fuck people who spend a lot of time in the gym, to saying that their expressing that preference, is a declaration of people outside that being sub-human.

Tone down the hyperbole. It is just sex. And there are plenty of people who don’t care for, or about gym fit bodies. Why not focus on those and go where you are wanted

Simple answer, no they don’t have the right.

The only people who will have a problem are those who don’t meet with your preferences.

There’s plenty of profiles on here that catch my eye but I accept I’m not what they’re looking for. It wouldn’t cross my mind to question why I’m not.

Exactly but I feel strongly it doesn't make us shallow. I mean how many people looking at a profile think, "I don't find them at all physically attractive but I still want to have sex with them because they're nice people and been polite to me?"

I turned someone down, not because of their race like they thought. It was their mannerisms towards me, acting all desperate and plus didn't find them really physically attractive. But they accused me of being racist and I left the conversation as I couldn't be bothered to argue. Would they prefer me telling them the truth?

in that situation being honest would of not only shut them up but also proved it wasnt about race (not that you have to prove yourself)

Sounds like they were trying to guilt you into meeting them anyway. I don't bother giving a reason as it's irrelevant. It's just 'no'.

If they get arsey it's just yet more proof they aren't worth meeting.

For sure, people throwing toys out their prams are definitely a great confirmation that they were a definite no. It's amazing how many do it and how many ignore what you said and carry on messaging you asking you to meet them! Everyone has a history of the message?

I'm not sure if everyone can see the message history. Even if they can I think some are just terribly ignorant.

Sometimes I reply and say I would never meet anyone who can't take "no" for an answer as they are clearly unsafe.

Yes. You can judge, have an opinion, complain and do whatever you want when you see a persons preference for anything. But what you can’t do is persuade someone to change something just to suit you.

It’s a persons right to have a preference for having sex with people, even if it sits wrong with you.

For example. I like open minded people.

People don't have the right to complain about your preferences, but they do have the right to judge you as long as they keep it to themselves. When we read a profile we're trying to get a picture of the people it represents, and every part of the profile contributes.

So we're a bit less likely to talk to people who have that bit about Sydney University on their profile. We're not keen on people who won't meet bi people, even though we're largely straight. And if their profile says "No blacks or Irish", then we're extremely unlikely to be interested in them because, frankly, the fact that they think that's important enough to put on their profile suggests they're not the sort of people we'd get on with.

And saying "it's just our preference" on their profile is a big black mark!
