Indonesia has been going this way for a while - I sometimes feel that they look at the more extreme Gulf States and try to outdo them.

Would think so as the law of the land is common to all, residents, and visitors.

"Adultery will also be illegal"

It actually used to be a punishable offence even in UK which would've been prison under matrimonial laws

Might even still exist but it can be costly because adultery goes against the matrimonial vows. Remember you weren't aware as most times it's supposed to be at the earliest time that you were made aware. Now you have

Suffolk - East Anglia

These laws in the far east underlines the fact that we (in the UK) are so lucky to be living in the most liberal, tolerant and free country in the world. The U.S. claim to be the most free but they have more rules, regulations and restrictions and than us.

In the UK we are free to choose our destiny, free to have sex with any other willing and consensual partner of whatever sex or sexual orientation.

Enjoy and embrace your freedoms guys!

People can only be reported for breaking these new laws by close relatives such as parents and siblings, so if you’re a tourist and you have sex with another tourist there’s very little chance of either of you being reported. Just avoid having sex with a local who has a close relative who’s a snitch and you’ll be fine.

Unless when booking a hotel they ask your marital status..would hotels still give double rooms to unmarried tourists?

Once again it is religion interfering in people's freedom and peaceful enjoyment of their lives.

In these ultra religious states these unelected clerics control people by affecting their most basic human rights and desires. If people accept that then they will accept anything.

At least the Iranians are fighting back at last against the "morality police" but it took some poor girl being beaten to death because she wore her head scarf incorrectly.

Possibly, but the thing is, if extra marital sex is that important to you, maybe don't choose to visit a country with those laws for a holiday.?

Acquiescence is always the way to go?

I have no intention of going to Indonesia. I just find the unnecessary restriction of peoples private lives by religion an offence to nature.
