Wink etiquette

When someone winks and we view their profile it seems somehow hard not to respond in some way.

We never wink ourselves but we imagine if we did and they looked at our profile we’d feel a little discarded perhaps.

We sometimes send a polite no thanks and some compliment in the hope that it softens the rejection a little.

I often send a brief message thanking for the wink and if they’d like to follow up with a chat. Often to no avail. It could just be a way of saying they just like my profile I suppose; perhaps I shouldn’t lead with a face pic in future

If someone winks at me I look at their profile maybe read it and fab a picture or two I like. That's enough of a thanks to me, but may message them if the profile is of interest.

Ooh yeah.

Establish a bit of trust before the face pic I’d say.

I usually respond to a wink, with a wink....if the mutual interest is there of course. Hoping it lets them know I'm interested also and that they may initiate a conversation

A polite no thanks generally hardens the rejection unfortunately!

Same here. Whoever sends the first wink sends the first message In reality, basically nobody follows up their wink if we reciprocate though

I do use winks, I understand the amount of mail couples and women get on here and don't wish to add to it, I have a said on my profile why I use winks, if whoever I wink looks at my profile and winks back I'll send a message,

If I receive an initial wink from someone I will reply even if it's just to say thanks

Really?

Is that how you actually feel.

here & there

We love a good wink, can never understand why people don’t find them useful - to us its a little nod of interest, we like the pics & bio but don’t want the rejection of an instantly deleted message.

So we wink… if we get one back then we’ll send something more.

We have been on here a few months and still trying to work out how some of the site works. We look at lots of profiles and have even sent received some messages. Still unsure how Winks work did discover you can’t add quote ti a wink also reading some profiles we worked out some people don’t like them.

If we get a wink from a couple we will always reply with a wink or message.

I have to grovel here and say we do get lots of winks from single men and ignore most of them. Sorry.

A good message is something we always answer unless it comes with a cock shot. They go in the sin bin.

I wink for a variety of reasons. Sometimes its a sign that I have seen something that stirs my interest but the profile contains insufficient information for me to make a comment. Other times, its to a friend to show that I'm still around, but haven't been active for a while on here for various reasons. On occasion , I wink where the profile seems confusing or contradictory and the wink is a signal to invite a response, should the other party feel so inclined.

If I receive a wink, I always check out the profile. Sometimes I apply the above criteria, other times I reply as I've seen enough to interest me to start a conversation. But sometimes, there is nothing there at all, i.e. no pictures and no text, so those I ignore.

We like the wink method.

If we wink and a wink is returned we'll then send a message.

If we receive a wink we'll have a peek at the profile and wink back if we think that we could be a good match.

OP out of interest how many winks have you received since your post?

To me winks are subtle hellos, a way to show interest or just show appreciation for the profile.

Not gonna lie OP one of the winks is from me

A wink is just a way of saying ‘I like the look of you, have a look at me’

We’ll look at winks but will only wink back or reply to profiles that we like.

No one knows that their wink has been looked at or not unless responded to, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

We generally receive quite a few throughout a day and they are welcome of course but our post is in regard to perceived etiquette.

We don’t feel at all guilty ignoring those profiles with only cock pictures.

I must admit, it is quite a common one that there is nothing beyond the wink itself, it's very rare anyone follows it up by messaging me

A wink i simply that, a wink. If a person that winks at me doesn’t follow through with a message that overtly indicates interest, then nothing happens.
