Just curious as i feel i should have checked but in this day and age you can never be sure nut i was just driving to work down a main road but it is unlit and in the countryside at 4.30am i saw a girl/women walking alone on the grass verge, my 1st thought is to check shes ok but i didnt as like i said nowdays its too risky to be a gentleman, so i carried on driving, i did notice she had her phone so she should be ok and obviously can call for help but i feel bad for not checking, what would you have done ?

Asked if they was ok, offer to pay for an Uber or taxi and wish them well and drive off once it arrived maybe? Certainly don’t mind helping someone in need but also think a stranger pulling up and saying they’ll give them a lift in an empty street is going going to frighten them when they’ve already made a silly choice to by walking home alone on a dark road. Doesn’t matter how tough etc you are , anyone can be a victim of crime so why needlessly put yourself at risk? I certainly wouldn’t

It’s a split decision on offering a lift but whenever you believe you may be in a potentially compromising position or things that you say or do may be challenged later then just put your phone on record.

You don’t necessarily need video and you don’t have to tell the other party.

I'm not sure if you did or didn't do the right thing, but it strikes me that men don't feel comfortable asking a woman if they are ok or if they can help a sad state of todays times. I'm not going to get into an argument about women been strong & independent, its about 1 human being feeling they can't check on another in a potentially vulnerable situation. Don't feel bad, I personally don't think you did a terrible thing at all

Understand why you didn't stop. I personally am hard wired on this sort of thing and would have stopped. I can only set the bar at what I am comfortable with. We are potentially very close to the dangerous cliff edge when we deliberately don't get do what we feel is the right thing to do. Only my opinion.

This is the trouble with how society is now, its nearly impossible to offer help because your always thinking that someone is either trying to trick you or accuse you of something. Its a sad place to live

It's more sad that's your go to thinking

It's a lot of people's way of thinking, it's a sad society, but not wrong. We didn't get this way for no reason
