By OK, I mean have read your profile and if you've asked for something (keyword, face pics etc) actually done it? Does the sender match what you're looking for in your profile?

Single word messages alot of the time too.

You can also tell which ones have been copy/pasted and sent to all.

They are a bit frustrating, but better than the downright disrespectful ones you get sometimes

Very few have actually read our profile and most get deleted unread because of this.

That said we've met some fantastic people in clubs recently, guys included, who have actually bothered to read before messaging and we've gone on to arrange a meet at a specific event.

we often think about activating filters but we actually find many of the messages amusing on the basis of the writers stupidity..... we don't want to miss out on these lol

My inbox looks very similar. Can’t stand the “can I ask you something” message. It’s just such a cheap attempt to get a message back.

I can also spot copy+paste a mile off - instant delete as well.

Messages to our couples profile are mainly from those who have read it and understand what we are looking for.

My solo profile has been a real eye opener.

It’s not particularly long and is very easy to understand but I’d say maybe 1% of people who message have read it . That includes couples, guys and other women.

The most respectful have been TV’s.

The worst are men by far.

Had this been my first experience of Fab I would have deleted my profile weeks ago.

I don’t really set rules or requirements for what people can say in a message.

I’d rather allow some the freedom to show their true self… giving that freedom works well as a filter too!

I have all the message filters on that I possibly can now but that still doesn't stop the hi how are you, can I ask you a question, do you want to meet later/at the weekend messages and then there's the messages from guys who have just looked at the pictures and not read my profile for what I'm looking for and, repeat messages after I have deleted their message BUT I do get nice messages too

Some very interesting replies so far. So as a single guy I like to read a profile to see if there maybe similar likes etc that would work. Some profiles you read and you just know to move on.

However… I do find that for some bizarre reason people ask for a particular heading to a message to show you have read all the profile and I’d say 90% of these put this code word at the end of a profile and regularly in capital letters so it sticks out like a sore thumb. Guys will honestly look straight to the bottom of a profile for this without reading anything else, friends who have done this I have suggested put something in the middle of a profile or just get rid of it completely.

I honestly don't understand how anyone can send out a message that isn't thoughfully worded, spell checked and relevant. I always put thought into it, even though the vast majority of messages are no longer propositioning people. Most of the time it's talking up a party night at the local club, knowing full well that they may attend and I never see them, or the odd person that I chat with about their insane Lego collection, one time even helped a woman to pick a good PC for her kid.

I read your bio intently, studied it and tried to see how much I could craft a message to appeal to you, but ultimately I was defeated because you very clearly state that you will go for anything with a faint pulse. Unfortunately my pulse is so faint that it takes a can of Monster, sandwiched between 2 strong coffees, a syringe of adrenaline and a defibrillator, then I become semi-conscious for a few seconds. It's a shame, as there are good guys on here too. But sadly, the number of guys who sign up and just start carpet bombing messages is huge compared to the genuine swingers. I used to be a single guy on here and I did OK! I think to be fair, the level of effort from most profiles is low, there are just more M profiles than there are couples, F and cd/TV/Ts so the bad press is louder.

I'd be interested to know how many 'serious' meeting profiles there are on fab compared to watchers, trolls etc?

I generally only receive messages when my filters are open to single guys, and are usually along the lines of “Want a discreet unload mate, nothing expected in return?” which clearly shows the sender does not match what I am looking for in my profile….

It’s rare I receive a first message from a single female or a genuine couple, at best a wink, or the ubiquitous friend invite as a first contact

By OK, I mean have read your profile and if you've asked for something (keyword, face pics etc) actually done it? Does the sender match what you're looking for in your profile?

You can categorically state that you want A and nothing but A and someone will still message offering B so what’s the point?

Our profile is deliberately non exclusive and we don’t like having rules IN CAPITALS!! so the messages are broad in their range.

We filter from there.

We get a few from time to time,

Especially when we post a new picture or two,

They are usually ok, on the whole, apart from the fact they tend to be from straight single men trying their luck

obviously not read the profile, or ignorred it.

There have been one or two not very ok ones, they got their senders instant blocks and not a second thought.

Shame few are from ladies, would like to hear from some soon x

"Every woman or couple that ever sent a message to me has been fine and they match up with me and my profile.

Guys, … all of them who propose we should meet, misses the part where it says I’m straight.

Similar to this besides the odd guys ignoring the fact I'm straight and so are they supposedly but their looking for says otherwise
