Should we let him move in ?

Swanley

We've got an ex play friend whose enjoyed Martine a few times over the years, and she certainly enjoyed him.

He's looking for somewhere to stay, and has gently asked if it could be with us.

It's risky but could be serious fun !

Thoughts ?

if its something you are seriously considering then Maybe have a written agreement made ups with signatures from you and him so that you have a bit more security?

It will be fun for about 48 hours. Then the reality of living with someone will set in.

Why not have him over for a weekend, see how it works out? If you do decide to go for it, I would definitely get a formal landlord/tenant agreement put in place. It might be a risky thing to do, but life would be dull if you always took the boring safe path!

That's a good plot for a horror movie. At first it was fun. Now thay won't leave. The Lodger. Only in cinema.

Don’t let him move in. I’d be weary of why he has no where else to stay… there must be a reason why nobody else will take him in

Blandford ish

As many others I think no.

Issue is you cannot escape it, also would he think every nights a play night! Would he get funny if you wanted to meet others and him not included. There are so many issues.

If your looking at polygamy with him and it’s a set up where you wife is in a relationship with you both it’s a different thing entirely

"Risky how?"

Its one thing to enjoy each others company for an evening, night etc but whilst there are households that do work it, having a permanent 'lodger' could create problems. It restricts what you may want to do in the future (for example move, entertain other 'guests' etc). Whilst I agree with the vast majority of the posts saying no, only you know if this dynamic could work as it depends on the nature of your relation and your relationship with this ex. I do know of couples where this works although even they comment now and again how frustrating it can be.

I think if you're going to invite a playmate over to live with you it's important you set strong boundaries and expectations. Also to be wary of how the living situation may change your dynamic

I was going to move in with a play partner a few months ago and even when we had all those chats we still figured out 'uh oh this isn't going to work is it'

Not saying that it can't work altogether, I really hope it does for you, just remember to he careful
